Chapter 13

Ashlynne P.O.V.
I woke up around 6 which is super early for me, and decided to pick my outfit for the day. I grab my favourite blue crop-top and my favourite black high waisted skirt, then go have a shower. After my shower I get dressed and put my hair into two French braids. I do a neutral makeup look and put on some vanilla perfume. I top the look off with some black heeled boots and the necklace my mom gave to me. I look at the clock and see that it's 7-the time the boys usually start getting up. I head downstairs to the kitchen and start making the pancake mix.

About ten minutes later James comes downstairs. I greet him with a smile and hand him a plate with pancakes on it. He takes a seat at the table and after a few minutes he stands again, putting his plate in the sink. What he does next and what I thought he was going to do are very different. I thought that he was going to go back upstairs and finish getting ready, but instead he grabs my phone off the counter and puts on a song I haven't listened to in a while-Can I Have This Dance from High School Musical 3.

You may be wondering why I have this song on my phone, and honestly I could give you a million excuses but instead I'll tell you the truth. High School Musical movies are what make me laugh and smile and I have so many memories of watching them with my mom and my brothers, and the music makes me really happy, so that's why I have it. Plus I had to do a dance to the songs a couple years ago.

James turns up the volume on my phone and walks towards me. I immediately start singing and dancing, with James joining me. (Bold will be Ashlynne singing and Italic will be James singing. Italic Bold will be both of them singing together. Cue song at the top)

The song ends and we look at each other. We were dancing together so I am currently in mid dip. We start leaning closer to each other and are nose to nose when we are interrupted by clapping from the doorway. I stand up and blush while James rubs his neck, his ears turning pink.

"Wow guys. That was amazing." Jake says, laughing. Tyler stands behind him smirking at me.

"Oh... Umm... Thank you. Here's your guys's breakfast." I say handing them their plates of pancakes. It was awkward for a minute while I watched Jake and and Tyler have a silent conversation, laughing every so often.

James clears his throat and we all look at him. "We'd better go and pick up Katie now, Ash. Chase will be waiting for Jake and Tyler." I nod and we walk outside to his car after I give my brothers a hug.
