Chapter 8

Lunch ended after Katie and I went to the washroom so I could calm down. Now I just had to find my new locker. It wasn't as hard to find as I thought it would be. It was actually the last one at the end of the hall towards the entrance of the school, only one hall down from the art and music rooms. I put my backpack into the locker and put all the books onto the shelves and started looking for my phone and earphones. Once I find them I go to grab my history book, when the locker to my left is slammed shut causing me to jump. I close my locker and turn around to see James standing there trying not to laugh.

"Dammit James. You scared me!" I say, exasperated.

"That was kinda the point babe." He says, finally beginning to laugh. It takes him a minute to calm down but he still looks like he's going to burst out laughing any second.

"Let's go to class now loser." I say rolling my eyes.

History was pretty much the same as every other period. We just sat around talking about pretty much nothing. Next period I had music. Ms England knows how much I love art and music so when she re-did my schedule she gave me music. Turns out I have this with the boys and Peyton too.

"Hello class," Ms. Swift says. "Today we are going to get into groups or pairs to prepare a song for the end of the week. You have the next few classes as well as after and before school to practice. Friday we will have a competition with two teachers as judges. I will not be judging as it will be biased and will not be fair. The winners will judge the next competition and receive a free dinner at the restaurant of your choice. You may all find your groups now."

Of course Peyton and I automatically stand together, watching and laughing as the boys are swarmed by girls.

"All right girls. Settle down. We already have our group." Lucas says as he walks towards Peyton and me. Instantly everyone's eyes flicker towards us. It was like a scene out of a typical rom-com in high school, except for the fact that Peyton and I were trying our very best to not burst out laughing.

"You heard the man. Go get your own jobs done and let us work." Colin says.

"Okay guys. We need some song suggestions." I say pulling out a piece of paper. About twenty minutes later we have our list of the top five songs we want to perform.

1. Closer-The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
2. Stitches-Shawn Mendes
3. Starving-Hailee Steinfeld, Grey, Zedd
4. Wake up-The Vamps
5. Dance with me-Olly Murs.

"I think we should do Closer and do the other songs for other competitions." James says. We all nod our heads in agreement.

"And just to double check, Lucas you're on drums, Colin you're on guitar, Peyton you're on piano, and James and I are singing?" I ask.

"Sounds good. Do you guys want to come to my house tomorrow after football practice? I have the instruments and everything." Lucas asks us.

"Im down for it." Peyton says.

"Yeah. Me too. Peyton and I can grab dinner and dessert on our way to your place. Just make sure you all have showers. I don't need to be surrounded by the smell of your sweat." I say. The boys all nod. The bell rings shortly after and everyone leaves the music room. Now we have free period. The only time I have Katie and Renee with me.

School has got me going crazy, and I just got my braces off too so between the stress and happiness my life is a roller coaster. I don't really know what I want to do when I finish this story, like should I make a sequel for them next year or should I start something new?
