Chapter 6: Operation Big Bang
4:45 P.M., Rayvine & Nathaniel’s Shared Bedroom
I can’t live like this, I can’t! I leered at the room in disgust, it smelled of year-old tube socks and mildew growing pizza. I could hardly stand to even look at it, let only live in it.
Nathaniel was a slob — an arrogant, filthy, slob. His idea of cleaning was throwing everything into a corner and spraying the room with Drakker Noir and Axe to mask the smell. Honestly, at first it did the job, but after the smell wore off I questioned whether to check the room for dead bodies.
I don’t understand why I had to share a room with that monster. This house probably had hundreds of rooms to spare so why do I have to room with the world’s biggest pig?
With a sigh, I continued to clean the room Nathaniel had destroyed. I poked at his dirty clothes with the end of a broomstick to check whether it was alive and then tossed it into the hamper. Whilst doing that a metal fork flies out of it and nearly stabbed me. I cringed just thinking of why that was in there.
I made the bed with a pair of cleaning gloves on and then made up my make-shift bed on the floor because I refused to even touch a bed that manwhore has slept on, who know what could be on there.
Speak of the devil...
“Oh, RJ’s here, get out.” He demanded as he walked in with his usual group of friends. They gave me a pitiful look as I clutched my temples to calm myself before another argument between Nathaniel and I started.
We fought constantly, all the time, about the stupidest, littlest things. It’s quite tiring, but Nathaniel insisted on disagreeing with anything I had to say. So I just ignored him and continued to clean even though I know he would mess it up on purpose just to get under my skin.
“You didn’t hear me, RJ? Get out of my room!” He exclaimed before he jumped onto his made bed and tossed the duvet so it would land on my head. I tried to remain calm as I threw the duvet off me but when he punted the pillow at my face I had had enough. That was it!
“Stop calling me RJ, stop demanding crap from me, and shut the hell up because for the time being this is my room too!” I yelled as I gradually walked closer and closer toward him. For extra effect I threw the pillow straight for his face, but it embarrassingly landed a few feet off. He laughed.
“No, I will call you what I want. No, I will do as I please and no it’s not your room. After the dinner tonight where my parents kick you out because you’re not the right one you won’t be bunking here anymore.” He retorted as he jumped off the bed and got into my face. At this point we were both breathing hard.
I shoved him away and jabbed my finger into his chest, “Well, I can’t friggin’ wait until I get back home to my real family and friends and the hell away from you, you big a’hole!”
He smirked showing teeth and muttered just low enough for only me to hear, “What family? Your real parents gave you up and Phil and Melinda did the same, no one wants you.” He breathed into my face.
My breathing hitched up a notch or two before I pushed him away from me, “That’s was low. You don’t even know anything about me.” In frustration, I walked away from him and toward the door.
“Well, how friggin’ convient is it that you’re leaving today?” He asked rhetorically, “Now I won’t have to!”
I scowled and slammed the door behind me.
One of his friends jokingly said, “I smell sexual tension.”
“Shut the hell up, Cameron.” Nathaniel muttered in reponse.
