Note: Sorry it's so late, guys! I got busy today and didn't get a chance to post it...and yes...maybe that was because I was watching Tokio Hotel TV lol XD Haha either way, enjoy! :)

His shaggy brown hair hung slightly over his forehead, nearly covering his bright blue eyes. Absentmindedly, he brushed it from his face and I bit my lip as I watched him. I guess I had always harbored a bit of a crush on him. Ever since we'd met months ago. The Governor was my father and I had been living with him at Woodbury when everything happened. One day, my dad had went out to "take care of" Rick and his people...but he never came back for me.

After that, the same people my father had spoken so badly of before, helped us and took us with them back to the prison. I'd had a nice life here so far. I helped Carl with the garden and Beth with Judith. Everything was so perfect here...well, as perfect as it could be in a zombie apocalypse. Carl cleared his throat then, making me look up.

"So you wanna read a comic book later? Michonne brought a new one when she went out last," he said, smiling.

I smiled back at him and nodded as I covered another seed with dirt.

"Sure! I'd like that." I said, watching him as he continued working.

With the shovel, he dug another hole and I quickly reached over to drop a seed into it. My legs cramped from squatting so long but I tried to ignore it. Brushing my fingers over the cool dirt, it covered the seed completely. With a smile, I leaned back to look at my work. Apparently I leaned too far though and before I knew it, I was on my behind in the dirt. Carl laughed out loud at me and I glared up at him.

He set the shovel against the fence and reached out a hand to me. I rolled my eyes and took the hand he offered. I tried to ignore the electric feeling I felt just by touching his skin. His hand was calloused but warm as he pulled me up. Once I was off the ground, I noticed how close he was to me. His piercing blue eyes bored into mine and butterflies erupted in my stomach.

A girl could get lost in those beautiful eyes of his. I cleared my throat then and stepped away from him, shaking off those thoughts.

"Um, thank you," I said, avoiding his gaze.

He smirked, "No problem."

The day wore on with no more incidents and soon, Carl and I had finished up in the garden. As I walked into my cell, I dropped onto my bed and looked up at the ceiling. Biting my lips, my thoughts went to Carl and our moment earlier today. He was so amazing. Sadly, he'd never like a girl like me. His father and the rest of the people here finally trusted me even though the Governor was my father.

But he would never like me that way. Not the way I liked him. The rustling of my curtain jolted me from my thoughts. I propped up on my elbows to see who it was. As soon as the curtain moved, it revealed Carl. His sheriff's hat was on his head once more and a smile graced his face as he gestured to my bed.

"May I sit down?" he asked and I nodded, moving so he could sit.

The bed sunk with his weight as I sat cross-legged beside him, absentmindedly playing with the fray of my jeans. Silence ensued then but it was a comfortable silence. My eyes drifted to the small barred window at the top of the wall.

"Oh! I brought the comic!" Carl piped up happily, taking it out of his back pocket.

I grinned and scooted closer to him as he opened it. Leaning over his shoulder to read, my eyes scanned the colored pages. It was times like these that made me truly miss the way life used to be. Back before the walkers, before my mother and sister died, and before my father lost his mind... Suddenly, I felt eyes on me and I turned my head to look at Carl. His blue eyes were on me once more, just like they had been earlier today in the garden.

I blushed scarlet and quickly looked away. But the feel of his calloused fingers under my chin brought my gaze back to his. His warm breath hit my lips and my heart beat fast. He leaned closer to me then and before I knew it, his lips were on mine. They were warm and soft and moved perfectly with my own. I moved my hand to cup his face as he deepened the kiss.

His sheriff's hat brushed my forehead and I smiled into the kiss. I felt him smile too and he moved closer so he was facing me. As he moved, his hat slipped off of his head, the tassels on the top consequently hitting me.

"Ow!" I exclaimed, breaking away from Carl.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?!" he asked frantically, a red tint lighting up his cheeks.

Looking at him blush, I burst into laughter. He watched me for a second before joining in. Once we caught our breath, he leaned down to the floor and picked up his hat. Adjusting it on his head, he grinned at me.

"See? This is why you shouldn't wear a sheriff's hat, Coral." I smirked.

He just shook his head at me and climbed back onto the bed.

"Oh, that's it! That's the last straw! No one calls me Coral!" he said playfully, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

He reached over and took the comic book in his hand. Realizing what he was about do, I tried to snatch it from him but he kept me at bay. Flipping to the last page, he began to read the ending, a smirk on his face. Thinking fast, my hand shot out and knocked the sheriff's hat off of his head. He arched his eyebrows at me and huffed.

"That's what you get for trying to spoil the ending!" I stuck my tongue out at him.

He rolled his eyes and threw it onto the bed beside him.

"Fine! I'll just do this instead!" he smiled broadly.

Before I could react, his planted his lips on mine once more. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I kissed him back. This prison thing just got a lot better.
