Girl Meets Hospital

RILEY'S POV

Josh got up and reached his hand out for Maya
He's going to tell her
Maya looked at me as if questioning 'should I?'
I nodded and she took his hand and they walked away to the back of the house
"What was that all about?" Farkle furrowed his eyebrows looking at all of us
"Yeah I mean it looks like he's really upset with her" Vanessa said
I sighed
"Well Maya is going to be mad at me anyways so I guess I should tell you too"
"What do you mean? Why would Maya be mad at you?" Lucas asked
"Because I might have told Josh something he wasn't supposed to hear from me"
"So you're going to tell it to us? What does it have to do with us?" Zay asked
"Because she lied to all of you together"
"I knew it..." Zay muttered
"You did?"
"I know you guys too well to know when you're telling the truth or lying"
"Ok... so Riley tell us" Smackle said
"Ok so you all probably remember that something like two days after Ski Lodge Maya disappeared for three days.."
"Yeah for that trip with her friend" Lucas said
"It wasn't a trip..."
"So what was i-"

Farkle was cut off with a loud scream coming from behind the house
We all looked at each other worried then quickly got up and ran to the back of the house
I saw Josh leaning over someone shaking them
"No Maya please wake up" he cried
Whoa wait
MAYA??
I pushed past every one and ran over to Josh
I looked down to see my best friend laying there
Her blond hair not so blond anymore
Her eyes were closed
Her beautiful face were paler then ever
She was barely breathing

I covered my mouth with my hand as tears started to form in my eyes
I fell on my knees and started sobbing while I hugged her unconscious body
"Riley?" I heard Katy
I looked at her with red eyes
She looked at Maya "Babygirl?" she ran over to me and Josh and wrapped us in a hug
"She's going to be ok" she whispered to us but I think she tried to comfort herself
"Call an ambulance" my mom told my grandpa who nodded and went into the house

I looked back on my best friend
My life
My other half
My sister
My heart
I started sobbing even harder blocking out everyone that came over to me and tried to comfort me

JOSH'S POV

It all happened so fast

Riley.
Katy.
Ambulance.
Sirens.

Next thing I know we are sitting in a hospital waiting room
Nobody said nothing
Riley was still crying as Topanga and Cory hugged her tearing up themselves
Katy was crying and Shawn was hugging her
Auggie, Ava, my mom and my dad stayed at the house because we didn't want Auggie or Ava to see Maya like that
All of the other teenagers in the room were tearing up hugging each other
Except from Lucas who just sat in his chair staring blankly at the floor with his fists clutched as if he was ready to punch someone 'till he died

And as for me
I sat there blaming myself for everything
She stepped backwards because I shouted at her
She ran back because I shouted for her to watch out instead of pushing her away
It all happened because of me
It's my fault
I hurt Maya
The broken girl
She trusted me enough to fix her up
And I broke her even harder
And now...
There's a possibility that we won't be able to keep our promise
The promise that made me wake up every morning hoping I would see her again
I just wanted her to be by my side and tell me everything's ok
I wanted her to hold me and tell me she was ok
That all of it is just a bad dream
But then again I find myself here
Sitting on a hospital waiting rooms' chair
Hoping I would wake up
From that dream that is actually real life

TOPANGA'S POV

~12:08pm~

I finally got Riley to fall asleep on Cory's shoulder and he fell asleep as well

I looked over at everyone to see only Josh was awake
He was probably blaming himself for everything
I got up and sat next to him

"I know you're going to tell me that it isn't my fault but it is" He said not even looking up from the floor
I placed my hand on his knee
"Josh... she stepped back because she wanted to be safe"
"From me"
"No- from fighting, from yelling- all of her childhood she heard yelling and she stepped back to get out of the memories"
"So I brought her bad memories back alive.. I don't understand if this is supposed to make me feel better"
"Even if you tried to save her from the car she would have pushed you back because she didn't want you to get hurt. Then she took one more step back thinking it would protect her from seeing her life flash by her eyes"
"Which brought her here"
"It's not in our control, it's the big guys' up there to decide what will happen and I think he knows what he's doing, everything will be ok"
I wrapped him in a hug and he cried on my shoulder
"What happens next Topanga?"
I sighed and remembered Ava asking Maya the same thing when her dad left
I pulled away from the hug
"When people you love suddenly is so close to leaving you completely?"
he nodded
"Well, you sit by yourself for a while and you'll try to figure it out. And you'll blame yourself. But it isn't your fault. You'd probably won't believe that though and you'll think that you did something wrong but... you didn't. it isn't your fault. Most of all- you stay here- don't leave"
"I would never"
I hugged him again as the doctor came out of the room
"Maya Hunter?"

We got up careful not to wake up anybody
"Before I tell you the news... I need her Mother or Father to sign the transfer papers so we can move her to New York"
I nodded
"I believe this young woman here doesn't need to hear what happened" He said looking over our shoulders
We looked behind us to see Riley sitting on the chair awake listening to every word that came out of his mouth
"They're going to tell me later anyways so cut it off and just tell us" she said getting up and walking towards us

The doctor pursed his lips together then sighed
"Ok... just be sure that her parents will know" he looked at me and I nodded

"She hit her head pretty hard and well..." he looked at Riley who was starting to get impatient 
He sighed again
"She's in a coma- a state where-"
"Yeah we know what's coma what else does she have?" Josh cut him off
"Josh..." I placed my hand on his shoulder trying to calm him
"Well... she can wake up in a few days" Riley breathed in relief "or weeks... or months" Riley's eyes started to water

RILEY'S POV

"Well... she can wake up in a few days" I breathed in relief 
A few days and she'll be back
"or weeks..."

a week and she'll be back

"or months"

My eyes started to water

"When she wakes up she might not remember anything"

I let my tears fall down my cheeks but I was still calm

Or pretending to be calm

"That's if she wakes up" he said
"What?" mom asked

No

"She might never wake up"
