Derek's POV
I picked Kate up off of the bed and walked her outside. She was crying and shaking against me and I just held her as close as I could without hurting her more. The she said the one thing I never thought she'd say to me, especially after what I let happen to her.
"Derek?"
"Yeah baby."
"I love you."
My heart stopped and my mind went blank. After all that had just happened to her, she loved me? Fuck I don't deserve this woman. I pulled her away from me slightly so I could look at her face. Maybe she was delirious or asleep? Her body pulled back and she wasn't asleep, so I asked her what she said.
