"I will not sacrifice my birthright for the promise of security." As the Queen's confidant, spymaster, and deadliest enforcer, her brother wields enormous power, particularly for a male born in the Reef's matriarchal society. Recent reports suggest he may differ from the Queen on key matters of strategy - but it remains to be seen whether this gap is a source of conflict, or part of the reason the Queen values him so highly.

I don't think there is a way to properly describe flying with Amber, she cared about getting us where we needed to go but she was more concerned with having fun and scaring the living crap out of me. She had wasted no time getting auto pilot set up so we could get the tattoo done and ready by the time we got to The Tower. The ship's size still baffled me just with how much could get put in here and still be functional. The flight took about 4 hours to get to the last safe city, and thanks to the accelerated healing rate the ghost had been able to give me the tattoo had healed up at a much more rapid pace than any normal one would. We landed the ship in the hangar and as we were about to walk out Amber stops me.

"Hey August, guess we match now," Amber says pulling off her left glove. "I'm starting to rub off on you aren't I? The way you took down that knight back on the moon had taken guts. One wrong move and you could have blasted Maddie,"

"Do you think I don't notice your rubbing off on me, I'm wearing your armor for crying out loud," I laugh "But hey that's not necessarily a bad thing. But keep this between you and I but I love working with you more than Maddie, you are a lot more relaxed and are fine with me messing up."

"Whoa wait a minute, I forgot you had my armor, check the ships console to see what day it is for me."

"Tuesday, why?"

"Dang it! August we missed Trials of Osiris! The current only way to get you some nice looking and strong gear."

"Well I wouldn't say the only way," a voice murmurs from around the corner. "We here at The Tower always are happy to equip a new guardian, but you August, I just don't think that will cut it."

That voice. I knew that voice that was the same voice that had left me stranded in the Cosmodrome to fight for my life. Toland, My old mentor and the first person I met in The Tower.

"August do you know this guy? Cause I'm perfectly fine killing him right here and now and from the look on your face you are too." Amber asks

"This is Toland he is the one who ditched me in the Cosmodrome just to break my spirit and have me fight for the vanguards cause. Now I'm perfectly fine killing him I don't think that is appropriate here. The Dead Orbit and Future War Cult leaders don't appreciate fighting in the hanger."

"Now August, there is no need to be so hostile but I was sent here to escort you and Amber to the Vanguard for a chat."

"We are just here for fuel so what could they possibly need from us? I pretty much told them that from the start, a simple in and out is all I want." Amber complained

"Just follow me and no one will get hurt" Toland begins, "The Vanguard has informed me of why they wanted to talk to you and why they decided I should be the one to be your escort."

I pull out my hand and begin forming another miniature nova bomb; nothing big enough to ruin anything but just enough to show I would let it fly if he kept going. I knew all of them at The Tower had seen what I had done to Angel back on the Cosmodrome, Toland told me that they had been watching me to evaluate me and decide where I was best placed.
