POV- Dakota McCain

"Hey Abby! What's up?"

"Nothing, just nothing!"

"Something is wrong, I can tell your crying. Even though were over the phone, I know you well enough. I'm coming over, you need me." I got my keys, and drove to her house. I made it there in about 5 minutes. I just barged right in, the door is never locked, just in case I ever showed up at random. I ran upstairs, only using every other step. In a matter of seconds I was in my girlfriends room. She just sat there in the corner of her room, with a glistening tear rolling down her face in slow motion. I sat down next to her. I wiped the tear off her face with my thumb, and kissed her lips so gently. She began to cry even more. "What's wrong?" I hugged her saying in a sad whisper. I could never stand seeing her in pain.

"Please, don't touch me. Just, just leave my room!" I sat there in astonishment, why would she ever say that? I know she dosen't mean it at all, because deep down in her eyes there was a sparkle in the shape of a heart. I hugged her again, she pushed me away, and then slowly lifted up the back of her shirt. Then I saw it, read marks lashed across her back. Someone was beating my girl.

Everything when black, then light started to show up. I opened my eyes, and I could feel gushing pain from my feet. I turned my head, and I saw Abby sitting in the chair. She was looking at the ground, I could tell she wan't thinking the happiest of thought. "Abby," I said like a mouse. Her head jolted in my direction, she had a huge smile on her face, and she ran/walked over to me.

"Thank the Lord, for you are alive!" I sat there with a smile on my face, and then it all came back. I was here because I saved someones life. or at least I thought I did.

"W-w-wha-att happen exactly? That last remember was a scream, and me going into the water to save someone."

"We were in the hot tub when Damion came right through the glass door. You protected me from all the glass that flew. Damion fell on the wet concrete from our splashing in the pool, he hit his head, and claimed to have went unconscious before rolling into the water. You jumped out of the hot tub, ran on all the glass pieces, did a perfect dive into the bloody water, and saved Damion from the deep depth. You were taken here, and just woke a couple hours after all the glass was removed from your feet."

"Oh my gosh. I can't, I just-t-t, I can't believe it. Where is Damion?"

"Well, he is right down the hallway."

"Is he okay?" I said indubitably shocked.

"He is in a coma, and there is no telling if he will come out. They had to take him into surgery, and he has serious neck and brain damage. I knew it was a bad idea having him sleep with no watch. I didn't know it could get this bad. Tracy is by him now, because she fell asleep. Our parents just left an hour ago, and they will be back in a couple more. I'm so glad your alive and okay, but we have to pray for Damion. He isn't in the best of shape." I just sat their in shock. I can't believe that happened. All because a 16 year old kid was drunk.

"Wow... I can't believe any of this happened. When do I get out of here?"

"I hope soon," Abby said with joy.
