You say you're not gonna fight
'Cause no one will fight for you
And you think there's not enough love
And no one to give it to
And you're sure you've hurt for so long
You've got nothing left to lose

*Jenna's POV*

*time skip to 3 months into the school year*

When I got to school one day, about a few months after Tay had put her relationship as 'Complicated' and we had been talking everyday, I decided to go with my gut feeling and ask Tay out on a date (one that I could pay for if we were to go somewhere outside of town so that nobody would recognize us.

It turns out though that she had a different idea, because I was told by the front office that Tay needed to talk to me about something and that I should go straight to her office in her classroom and what I saw was really surprising.

What I saw was a sign saying, "Will you go out with me and be my date to the winter dance? <3" with a music symbol, a drawing of a couple dancing and a few hearts.

"Does the front office know about this? About you asking me out?"

"Yeah they know and they aren't going to report anything because you are 18. Just as long as nothing sexual happens  between the 2 of us until after you've graduated high school and my co-workers here know that I'm asking you out. My co-workers are cool with it as well."

"Than yes. I will go out with you and be your date to the winter dance. But I'll be paying for our tickets."

"You won't need to. All of us teachers get to bring a date for free, especially because my band is playing at the dance this year."

"Are you serious?"

She nodded her head and I went up to her to hug the crap out of her.

*time skip 3 months later to the dance*

"So it's the night of the dance. You excited to go with your girlfriend Jenna?" Whaki had asked.

He knew of course because I had told him about a month into the relationship with Tay.

"No. I hate dancing. Of course I'm excited to go you moron."

After my band mates, as well as my sister Syd (my other sister got sick and wasn't gonna be able to go, but she was gonna be fine and able to take care of herself the next few hours), and I got dressed and ready for the dance, we had gotten into the 2 cars and drove to the dance.

*Tay's POV*

"So you guys ready for this?" I said, asking my band mates.

"No we aren't ready for this. That's why we have all our instruments and the stuff we need for tonight's performance for a high school dance."

"You know, you remind me so much of my girlfriend right?"

"Haha, funny. Except I have a dick and I identify as a male. Not a girl."

We both stuck our tongues out at each other, pretending to start boxing each other.

After about 8 minutes, Jenna finally got here and walked up to them so that I could kiss them. Thankfully nobody really cared or bothered to notice seeing as how just about every single person, both the students and the staff, from both of the schools didn't really seem to care because as far as I know they're all accepting of people who are LGBTQ+.

*7 minutes later*

"Alright everybody. Welcome to the annual Winter Dance. Hope you guys are enjoying it so far. So my band and I will be playing for you guys and later we will have a close friend of mine play a few certain songs about an hour into the dance. This first song is called Rumor Mill."

Here we go again
It's like you're calling all the shots
Before I shoot them
And I hate that
Every time I turn my back
I wonder what you'll say to make me sound
Like someone different
It's not worth it anymore

An hour has passed of my band and I performing songs, which is kind of weird because it feels like it's been at least 20 minutes.

"Alright guys. So as I have promised, a good friend of mine is gonna take over with my band for the next like 4 or 6 songs. Guys, gals and non-binary pals, I introduce to you Lynn Gunn from PVRIS."

Afterwards, Lynn came onto the stage and started, but first said, "So this first song is the song Kiss Me Again by this band," referencing to We Are The In Crowd.

I gotta say something I've been thinking about.
I can't wait to lay around with you.
And tell you all the secrets I've been keeping to myself.
It's been awhile since I've felt butterflies.
Do you feel the same way too?
If every single second could last that much longer.
Would you hold me?
And kiss me again underneath the moonlight.
You're more than a friend, oh.
I knew it from the first sight, yeah.
Hold me, feel my heart beat.
Put your arms around me.

After about another 30 to 60 minutes, the dance was over and people either went to the after party at the laser tag place or went home to hang out with their group of friends/date.

Me, I went to the place with the laser tags, bumper cars and ice skating place with my band mates/best friends, Lynn, Jenna, their band mates, sister and their sister's date.

*Jenna's POV*

Thankfully the dance last night was on a Friday night because Syd and I didn't get home last night until 3 in the morning, with Tay, her band and my band mates staying at my place. Tay and I were cuddle sleeping in my bed.

I silently got out of bed to go downstairs to make food for eveyone. I made eggs and real bacon for those who aren't vegetarian and eggs and fake bacon for those who are vegetarian.

Honestly, I've become a really lucky person these past 3 and a half months since coming to Colorado.

I mean, I've got the band mates, who have become like my brothers and best friends, I've got my sisters, and I'm not living in Australia with my piece of shit father. Like I miss Australia, but just as long as I'm away from him.

But most of all, I have Tay.

I just really love her. I know we've been together for almost 3 months now, but I really love her.
