"Camry, wake up." I felt my body being shook. I moaned. I didn't want to get up. I wanted sleep."Go awayyy," I moaned. My body began to shake. I tried to slap who was shaking me, but I missed. Sadly.
"Camry! It's an emergency!" My eyes popped open and I sat up. I looked at the culprit and frowned when I saw it was Zeus. I'm surprised he didn't wake me up with a bucket of water. "Hurry up and meet us in the meeting room!" He ran off.
I looked around and rubbed my eyes. I realized I was in my old bedroom still.
I sighed and stood up. I went to my real room and took a fast shower and got dressed in black jean shorts and a colorful top. I tied my hair in a braid even though it wouldn't stay in.
Soon enough, I opened the door to the meeting room. Everyone stopped their conversation and turned to look at me. I raised my eyebrows at them as went and stood next to Ares chair.
I'm sure everyone noticed that I didn't sit in the empty seat next to Hades and my mom.
"Well, what's this emergency meeting for?" What was the point of me coming here if they didn't say anything?
My mom shook her head as if to clear her mind and then spoke. "We think it might be good for you to go back down to the human world.."
I jumped into the air and let out a big hoot. "Yes!" I really missed Naomi and my Nana.
Everyone had a stoned face expression.
"You didn't let me finish," my mom stated. "We think it might be good for you to go back down to the human world and say your goodbyes to your friends." I froze. Say goodbye? I couldn't do that. Why would I have to do that?
"I can't. I can't say goodbye to them." It wasn't going to happen. There was no way I could do that.
Zeus spoke up. "Listen here, girl. You don't have a choice. You were born to be the Goddess of the Underworld, so you are going to do this. I do not want to hear you complain or whine."
I raised my eyebrows at my so-called father. "Listen here, boy. I believe I do have a choice. I can leave right now and never come back. How would you like that, dad?" Zeus gave me a hard glare.
He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't when mom spoke up. "Okay. Everyone, calm down. We don't have to argue." She turned and looked at me. "I'm sorry, Camry. But, Zeus is right. You have to do this." She paused and turned towards Hades. "If not for me, then for Hades."
I looked down at my hands. I was kind of upset that my mom would try to get her way by using Hades. It wasn't going to go well for her, though. I was mad at Hades.
I looked up at her with a hard stare. "This is my decision. Not yours. And I will not let you use Hades as some type of excuse for me to agree with you." I looked at Hades and he gave me a sad stare. He knew I was still mad at him.
I turned and walked away, but stopped when my mom spoke. "I guess we'll just have to kill anyone who ever knew you." She paused and sighed. "That would be pretty hard since you were popular."
She wouldn't do that. Right?
I took a big breath and continued walking to the door. The first thing I did was walk outside. I needed fresh air after that whole meeting.
I decided to go to my favorite spot. The river.
I sat on the ground and looked into the water. I saw different types of fish swimming in the river. Green lily pads poked out of the water.
The air outside had a slight breeze to it, but it felt nice with the heat. I could smell flowers and natural scents that made me happy.
I sat there and thought about what I should do. Say goodbye to Nana and Naomi, or say goodbye to Hades, my mom, and my family.
I love Hades. I knew that. I just didn't know if I was ready to be married and be a Goddess. Let alone the Goddess of the Underworld.
I loved my mom, too. Even if she did threaten to kill people I care about. She couldn't do that. She was supposed to protect the people of earth. Not kill them. Right?
I loved Naomi and Nana. Naomi was there for me for forever. We did everything together. We shopped together. We crushed together. We pretty much lived together. As for my Nana, well, she was always there for me. She would protect me from anything and everything.
And even though they were only two people, they were the best two people ever.
I needed to make a decision. And I needed to make it fast.
I remembered the promise I made to Hades. It was while we were down in the Underworld before we came back to Mount Olympias.
"I want you to promise me something." I moved my head off of Hades shoulder to look at him. I was resting on his chest in the carriage that was bringing us back to Mount Olympias. "I want you to promise me that you will be my queen. That you will be the Goddess of the Underworld. Because, I love you. I can't lose you. If I lost you, I wouldn't survive."
I looked up at him with love in my eyes. "I promise."
I laughed when Hades stuck out his pinky. "Pinky promise?"
I connected my pinky with his and smiled.
"Pinky promise."
