Chapter 7. Problems

"Aphmau" I yell when she gets home " we have to hurry up, dinner is in 20 minutes!" I look over at her and she a tear trip down her cheek. "Aph" I say with a shaky voice "what's wrong?" After a few seconds she says "I... I... I cheated on Aaron". "What" I say "but you love Aaron!" She starts crying and says "I didn't do it on purpose! I was drunk and a guy who was wearing the mask Aaron used to wear came over and started flirting with me. My mind was really messed up and I thought it was Aaron playing around, so I kissed him. That was the last thing I remember before I woke up the next morning in bed with the guy in some hotel room and realized it wasn't Aaron. I was really embarrassed and scared so I grabbed my stuff and went back to my hotel room. I then went to the airport and looked on my phone and saw Aaron had called me 13 times. He must have been so worried about me and I haven't talked to him yet!" She slumps down against the wall and starts sobbing. I walk over to her, pull her up and say "you may have cheated, but you thought it was Aaron and you are obviously very upset. You know Aaron and you know that he will forgive you because he knows you would never cheat on purpose. Now go upstairs and get ready for your welcome back dinner where all your friends are going to see you". She sniffles and quietly says "thanks." I sit on the couch and think about Aphmua's situation, on one hand she cheated, on the other hand she was drunk and she thought it was Aaron. If I was Aaron I would get mad, but I think I'd forgive her.

~~~Time skip to the restaurant ~~~

"Aphmau you have to come in" I say "we're already 10 minutes late, I can only stall for so long with text messages". Aph whimpers and exclaims "what if he doesn't love me anymore, what if no one wants to be my friend!" I shake my head and say "I know and I'm still your friend and we already went over that Aaron will still love you, you'll just have to give it a little time and he'll forgive you". She tries to hold back tears and whispers "how can you be sure" I think a moment and say "you don't know, just put your faith in Aaron because you love him. And you know you have even since high school and you know that he did too. Even when you were mad at him." She smiled and said jokingly "like you and Travis" with grin on her face. I immediately started blushing and said angrily "no, I don't like Travis. He's a creep!" She giggles and wipes her eyes before walking inside with me following. We quickly stopped in the bathroom so we could make it look like she hadn't been crying. When we got to the table and everyone welcomed us, but I immediately saw that Aaron was worried and I wasn't the only one. Aphmau noticed too. After Aaron noticed that he immediately put on a happy face and asked to talk to her alone, when everyone was joking that they were going to make out he gave me a look that said "stay here". After a minute of every one saying how they were probably making out in the hallway I excused myself and headed the way they went which was also luckily was the way to the bathroom. The first thing I here is Aaron saying "how could you do this to me" oh no this can't be good. I can see Aphmau say "Aaron I didn't mean to, it was all a big accident. The only reason I was even drinking was because I was stressed and homesick and lonely, so I needed a distraction. It was my first time drinking more than one drink so I didn't know how much you could drink without getting really messed up. I just kept drinking and drinking and by the time I realized I drank to much it was to late!" The whole time she was saying this she was sobbing. Aaron just said "give me some time" and started walking back to the table. As soon as he left I ran over to Aph and gave her a big hug. She leaned against me and cried "he hates me." I let her cry some more before saying "no he doesn't, he's just mad. He'll always love you. Now let's fix you up." We go into the bathroom and once again fix her makeup, this time until she looks completely normal. When we get back Aaron says "ah look who's back form the bathroom, took you guys long enough." He laughs good naturally, but if you knew what happened it was obvious he was hurt inside.
