~~Third Person POV~~
"Have a nice evening", the photographer called after the couple. "Thank you." The young couple stepped out of the photographers shop and started walking down the street together. It was later at night and the moon was high, but it wasn't late enough for all the shops to be closed.
"Oh, I do hope they come out well", the woman said to the man. He chuckled and looked at her.
"How could they not?", he asked before looking forward once again. "After all, you were the subject, darling. Surely the likeness could be nothing short of gorgeous." He looked over at her from the corner of his eye and saw her blush and smile. She gripped his arm and leaned on it happily as they continued to walk.
"Darling!", she exclaimed happily as they did so. Above the streets, standing at the tip-top of a tower, a silhouette stood out against the bright moon. A silhouette with long red hair and a red coat.
"A lover's song destined to end in death", the silhouette said in a slightly poetic tone. As the couple below walked along happily, not a care in the world, a silver dust in the air followed the woman until it started to spark. The silhouette smiled. "An alluring melody singed by sparks of pain." Suddenly, the sparks grew in number and size as they caught up to the woman and she suddenly burst into flames. She screamed out in pain, agony, and fear as she tried to stop the pain or put out the flames. Both if she was lucky.
"E-Ellen!", the man exclaimed as a small crowd of passersby slowly gathered. The woman lost a shoe and let out another choked scream as she collapsed against the wall of a building. The man threw off his hat and quickly ran over to the woman, Ellen, while taking off his coat. He tried to put out the flames with his coat while the woman struggled as the crowd watched on in horror, fear, shock, and more. However, his efforts were to no avail and his coat eventually caught fire, being consumed by the flames and he dropped it. The woman reached out a weak burning hand to him desperately. "No! Ellen!" He took her hand in his hands immediately, but he gasped in horror as her hand came clean off as he grabbed it, crumbling to ash in his own burnt hands. Stunned by what he saw, he looked up at his beloved once more, only to witness her smoldering body crumble to a pile of ash just as her hand had. "Ellen!" He collapsed to his knees in front of the pile of ashes, sobbing.
The only thing left of his newly wedded wife Ellen was the shoe she had lost in her desperate attempts to live.
The silhouette above came down from the pole he had been standing on, but stayed on the rooftop while hanging on to the pole. "Thus the music closes. The fierce, fiery finesse of death!", the silhouette, Grell, exclaims.
~~Claire's POV~~
"This afternoon we have green tea from the Kangra Valley. On the side you'll find gooseberry and elderflower jelly", Sebastian presented to Ciel and I. We each took a bit off our own plates and I started devouring the desert after registering its nice taste and that it had no negative effect on my stomach.
"I suppose it'll do", Ciel said.
"I'm glad you find it satisfactory", Sebastian replied. "When you're finished, there is work to be done." Ciel's eyes widened and he looked up at Sebastian while I did the same.
"Oh?", he questioned. Sebastian presented a small tray with a letter on it containing the seal of the queen. Ciel read the letter while I finished my food slower than I had been previously eating. Tomorrow was supposed to have been the special day for just Ciel and I that he had planned and I was disappointed to see something else come up instead. He was too busy today, so I knew he would have to start the investigation tomorrow.
"People being burned alive?", Sebastian asked as he poured more tea after Ciel had finished reading. We had finished our jelly and were all in the study now. "Oh, yes. That's to do with the rash of crimes in London." It had been in the paper for a while. "I'm told there was another last night."
