I could smell the strong scent of something musky and strong in the air. The aroma surrounded all around me filling my nostrils with its smokey smell. I shifted on my body to be laying on my back. My vision was still dark from my eyelids being closed.

After we zip-lined over the wall we made a run for it in to the forest of this foreign terrain. It was so overwhelming to think of everything at once. For one I was actually outside the wall now in this unexplored land that so many probably wanted to explore but were confined to the walls of the city. Of course, it was the rules to never leave the city or you'd be killed on sight. No one should be leaving the city in the first place. There was nothing to escape from.

And it's pretty simple yet so many don't think of it because they're too worried about breaking the rules and making life tougher on others. People live in the city, if you step foot out here with no equipment, food or water; you might as well be asking to go out to die.

Why people do what they do to ruin and make Zoe's job more difficult with all these riots still baffles me. I really felt bad for her that she has to deal with so many idiotic people.

'Enough' I thought. 'I really should stop overthinking these kinds of things, it's just the way it is'.

Secondly I was overwhelmed just by running so abruptly. We must've ran for a good mile though the trees to get out of sight for any Xultant guards who protected the wall from any escapees. After we ran a good distance Richard told Jay, Alexandria, Matt and I to set up our bed rolls, get some water to drink and get some rest for tomorrow. We'd be hiking for a couple of hours, running some and walking in between.

Richard wanted this to be over quickly as possible. But he knew that we would probably be having to spend another night outside the wall. And then the next day, early in the morning, we'd get back over the wall. I rolled out the bed late last night and immediately fell asleep, tired from all the running we had.

My eyes opened to nothing but darkness. It was as though I didn't even open my eyes. The only thing that stood out from the darkness was white specs that glimmered slightly. I must've been looking at the night sky with all of the stars fully glimmering.

But something wasn't right. I don't know why but something was obviously different.

My hair, head and body weren't on the plushy fabric of the bedroll. It felt as though they were on the more rough and grainy dirt coalesced with the sharp blades of grass. The grass brushed up against my face and danced with the wind in the peripheral of my vision. I could feel the coarse dirt rub up against my hand as I twitched my fingers little by little.

There was absolutely no noise. No shifting around or heavily breathing of the other four. Not even light breathing was heard. I don't even think I could hear my own breath. I looked over to the grass blade to see it swaying to the wind, but there was no sound either. My heart started to pulsate more quickly. The world around me was completely silent.

I flipped over on to my stomach and onto my feet in a second. Everything around me was faintly dark with even more darker outlines choking the area around me. My breathes started to tune in with noise as I hyperventilated. The wind and every other noise began to fade in.

All of a sudden a large erosion of fire shot up out of nowhere. I gasped at the sudden appearance of the flame. Everything now became illuminated by the large vertebrae of fire. Trees surrounded the fire and I, making a circle around us and pointing up to the clear patch of night sky. I looked down to see that I wasn't wearing the protective armor that Richard gave me. I just wore a white short sleeve shirt with white pants. My feet had no shoes on, letting the grains of earth dirty up the bottom of my feet.
