The emergency elevator opened up to another hallway that I hadn't seen before. It was a little more darker than the hallway I went through the first time I went to Zoe's office. There were no overhead lights that led to the end of the hallway. Or maybe there were but they were now shut off due to the whole tower about to collapse.
My mind raced with all of the events that had unfolded leading up to this moment. This was coming close to the end as we were yards away from the person who has been making us suffer for a long while. The rifle weighed down on my arms as though they had just become heavy lead blocks.
Hazel stood there still shocked and depressed about Ttwo's death. I tried talking her out of her trance but she just seemed to ignore me and stand there with no emotion.
Kaitlyn on the other hand was standing there with her own gun, occupied on one purpose and one goal.
And that was probably to kill Zoe.
She didn't seem to have any worry towards Crimson now. She was more focused on getting to our destination. Her hand gripped tightly on the handle of the gun.
We stepped out into the darkened hallway. Our shoes softly tapped against the tiles that barely reflected back up at us. At the end of the hallway was a large glass wall that seemed to cover as an entrance for an office. But I don't remember there being any glass walls in this level. It was just normally made office doors and walls.
Now that I looked closely to it there was a door there with a handle that led into it. And inside was the same layout as Zoe's office.
In fact it was Zoe's office.
And there were two people in it.
One person was Zoe, she wore normal street clothes that seemed different of her considering the fact that she was known for wearing nice dresses wherever she was. She seemed content with her hands behind her back.
And she was staring at us as we showed up.
And the other person was too.
"Crimson" Kaitlyn gasped.
Crimson! What was she doing in there with her. She didn't even have a look of worry on her face as she was in the same room with that monster. The gun that she held was lowered to her side. Crimson too stared back at us with a serious and content look. She seemed like she was more surprised that we were there than anything.
Why is she in there? Why hasn't she killed Zoe?
Kaitlyn ran towards the glass wall. Hazel and I ran towards the wall with her quickly. My mind was so disoriented and my stomach was nauseous just thinking of why Crimson is in there right now.
Kaitlyn ran up to the door and tried opening it, the door clicked and wouldn't budge. Hazel and I stood behind her stared back at Crimson in shock now. She had locked the door so that we wouldn't disrupt her and Zoe.
"UNLOCK THE DOOR" Kaitlyn shouted at Crimson. She slammed the glass repeatedly with her fists, making the glass emit thumps with the hits. "CRIMSON PLEASE" she sounded like she was going to cry.
Crimson stood there on the other side of the wall not saying a word to us. I stared at her in horror as she locked us out. She's going to get herself killed. And yet here she was staring at Kaitlyn, her love, and not caring for what she says. Hazel and I started to shout her name and telling her to unlock the door.
This wasn't going to work. Maybe something else will. I looked down at my gun.
"BACK UP" I pulled the two away from the wall. I outstretched my arm and aimed the gun away from Crimson and shot at the glass. Only white frosted chips came off the glass. The bullets that struck the glass prove futile with every bullet being smashed up and bouncing away.
