Jaime’s eyes turned to Chris, “Your parents? I thought they’re never get home? What would they do if they see us here playing with their son without them at home?”
“Jaime, stop terrorizing Chris’ mentality. He might be in shock, too. That can’t help.” I started to panic, what if my father heard about this and he hits me again because of my mistake? No. I have to be strong, I need ideas. “We have to look good so they won’t accuse us of causing bad effects to their son.”
“Yes.” Chris’ eyes are showing off his fear.
“Chris, please, calm down. We have to think.” As I say the words, I can see the knob of the door gently twisting and the door opens. A woman, who looks like on her forties, stand by the doorway and looks at us with no expression on her face. Her eyes explores to our faces as she examines us. It is our first time to see the mother of Chris Robinson. She is on her jeans and a plain blue shirt and her hair is at shoulder length and her shinning green eyes. This is where Chris got his eyes.
“Oh, hello.” She greets and smiles.
“Mom. Hi. I’m sorry I haven’t told you that my friends came by our house. We... uh... We are planning to have a night out and we... uh... talked about our stuffs here. It’s kinda messy, I know.” Chris tried to be natural.
“That would be fine, son. In fact, we’re not expecting you to be home. I thought you have Saturday classes?” her eyebrows rise.
“Finally over with that, Mom. We’re back to regular classes as of Monday so we don’t have out classes today. Sorry I haven’t told you about that.” Now, he’s not nervous. Oh, thank God.
“What’s with the welcoming committee?” an old man, who looks like on Chris’ mother’s age, came across the doorway carrying all the bags and different stuffs.
“Hi Pops!” Chris approaches and hugs him.
So, they’re not mad.
“I think we have to go.” I gently whisper to Jaime. “They need time for some... uh... family gathering and it wouldn’t be nice if we disturb them.”
“Yeah, I think so too.” He taps Chris’ shoulders, “Bro, we gotta go now. We would want to steal your attention from your parents.”
“Sure, buddy.” Chris smiles and looks at me, “Be careful, I’m not sending you home today.”
“I’ll be fine.” I can go home by myself.
We bid our final goodbyes for the day and grab our bags. Jaime and Martha cuddle each other on our way out of the house. If Chris sends me home, he’ll surely imitate Jaime’s provocative gestures and it will just ruin my day. I don’t really hate him but he is so trying hard to be the best guy in my life and I don’t like it.
“Let’s be alone together!
We could stay young forever!
Scream it from the top of your lungs!” Jaime sings out a Fall Out Boy Song.
When it comes to music and bands, Jaime is my partner; obviously because the brats hate our music and insult us that what we like is a piece of shit. They’re absolutely wrong. If they only look on the deeper part of the song – the lyrics, they will understand that our music is not shit. I can say this because... I’ve been through this. I’ve always thought that these songs are non sense but when Jaime told me the stories behind each of those songs, it touches a part inside me and I can relate my own story to it.
