I walked into my house, my home. Tears of joy threatened to spill. I couldn't cry though, not with Maxon's hand firmly holding mine.

My mother's cry of surprise rang throughout the whole house. We hadn't exactly told them we were coming. "Hi Mom," I said and ran to hug her. My father and Gerad appeared behind her. "Kitten! Why didn't you tell us you were coming?" My dad said, surprisingly calm.

" Hello there,Your Majesty," Gerad said, being the first one to notice Maxon.

"Hey! You must be Gerad. Nice to meet you." Maxon put a smile on his face that would make any kid fall in love with him. He stuck out his hand and Gerad shook it eagerly.

My mom straightened and blushed. She tried to fix herself, but as always she looked beautiful and elegant. She curtsied politely and said,"Your Highness." Maxon suppressed a chuckle and replied, "Mrs. Singer, nice to see you again." She blushed even more fiercely.

My father stepped forward and interrupted the reunion. "She's back there." He pointed to May's room. I nodded, remembering why I had come in the first place. I led Maxon to the room, but stopped before turning the knob. I turned to look at Maxon and said, "Wait here." He nodded and gave my hand a tight squeeze before letting go.

I went in. The shades were closed, leaving little light to see with. On the bed, May was laying there with her eyes closed, sleeping. I sat on the edge of her bed and rubbed her arm to wake her.

May's eyelids fluttered for a moment before opening fully. She glanced around the room before her eyes found me. May gave a weak gasp that sent her into a coughing fit. I patted her back and stroked her hair until she settled. She took deep breaths before trying to speak.

"What are you doing here? Did Maxon send you home?" She asked.

"No, he didn't send me home. I came to visit you."

"Is he okay with you coming?"

I smiled, "I don't know. Why don't you ask him?"

At that moment, Maxon walked in wearing a carefree smile. May looked as if she was about to faint. She tried to get out of bed, but Maxon rushed over to stop her before her bare feet touched the ground.

"Easy there, Tiger. You can't get up just yet. Don't worry, though. I brought you medicine that will make you feel so, so, so, so, so, so, so,so much better." May and I giggled at him. It was nice to see his playful side again. "Whatever you say, Your Majesty," May joked.
