Chapter Six:

"Can you believe him?" Sophie scoffed, eyeing up Zayn from across the lunch room. He sat with Effie and a bunch of her stuck up friends. Sophie had a snarl on her face as she stared angrily at them. Her disgust was clearly evident. Everyone at her table groaned in annoyance, but she was so drawn in to watching him she didn't hear.

"Can you believe her?" Zayn mumbled, looking at Sophie from the corner of his eye. She sat with Niall, Harry, and Shay. "She knows I can't stand him," he said, making a fist with his good hand- he broke the other after punching the wall. "He probably has already made a move on her."

"Zayn, didn't you hear that Sophie kissed Charlie on Bonfire Night?" Effie asked with a smirk. "It was quite steamy, I saw it with my own eyes. You shouldn't be worried about Niall, but Charlie. He is quite fit. I think you have some competition."

"What?" He snapped, whipping his head around to look at her.

"I think she might even fancy him," she added, glancing over to Sophie from the corner of her eye. Her attention turned back to Zayn and how sexy she thought he looked in that Henley. She was purposefully  adding fuel to the fire that was Zayn's anger, and it was growing dangerously and rapidly. It wouldn't take long till it exploded.

Without another thought, Zayn dashed from his table over to Sophie's. He swiped her drink off the table to her attention. It fell to the ground and spilled everywhere. She looked up at him appalled. The fire erupted, sparks escaping from the buring wood and landing on everyone gathered around. This will be quite the mess.

"What the hell is your problem?" She hissed, staring at Zayn. Lunch aids looked annoyed with the mess, but didn't say anything. They never say anything. They are seen, not heard.

"What the hell is your problem, Sophie?" He retaliated angrily. "Why the fuck did you kiss Charlie right after you broke up with me?"

"Did your new girlfriend, Effie, tell you that?" She retorted, eyeing him up with distaste. "That's none of your business anyway."

"It is my business because you are involved," Zayn said, his voice raising more and more, getting closer to shouting.

"I'm most certainly not your property," she snorted. "Go away, Zayn," she suggested. "You have no idea what you're talking about. Go back over there with Effie because you are so infatuated with her."

"Shut up," he growled, his anger beginning to rise at a rapid and dangerous pace.

Both Harry and Niall stood up in that instant to defend Sophie.

"You are way out of line, mate," Harry said wearily, resting his hand on Zayn's chest to push him back. Niall backed Harry up, but he avoided eye contact with Zayn, deciding staring at his heaving chest that rose and fell rapidly was a much safer target.

He pushed Harry away, snarled at Niall, then stared down at Sophie. "I'd like to talk to you in private," he said through gritted teeth.

"Don't start this shit, we're in school," she warned in a low tone, dramatically rolling her eyes for effect.. "You're making a scene. Now please leave me and my friends alone."

"Fine, I will. I know Effie doesn't act like a total stuck-up bitch," he spat with such intense venom that it struck Sophie by surprise.

"I'm a bitch?" The hurt and shock was clear in her tone and face. Her anger overcame that hurt though. She stood up from the table and slapped Zayn. Her hand stayed frozen in the air as he clutched his cheek.

"Miss. Samuel, Mr. Malik," a deep voice said behind Sophie. Zayn looked up and Sophie turned around to face Principal Baldwin. "My office immediately."
