I sat in the Prez's office trying to contain my temper. "It's been three fucking months Hazard and we still have got no leads. It's been too fucking quite around here." "Speak for yourself," he smiled.
For Hazard it had been nothing but excitement and adjusting to a new family life. He and Haven had moved in with Cade and Melody (and a recovered Punchy) in a new house closer to the club. And although it had only been three months I wouldn't be surprised if they added another into the mix any time now. At least at the rate they were always going at it. They had plenty of space that's for sure.
"Haven still hasn't gained any of her memory back?" I asked again frustrated. "Nothing. Which I'm fucking thankful for but I'd like to know who betrayed us." We all would. While Hazard had plenty of reason to celebrate these last few months the brotherhood had become intense. Everyone making speculations about who it could have been.
"Any word about that other thing you were looking in on?" Ah yes, the other thing that was costing me sleep at night. The journal. Her journal. "Waiting to hear back from my insider in Mexico." Hazard had a hunch when he replayed his words with Vega before he killed him. Something about her still being punished. Her.
Fuck I could hardly even say her name. Sasha. I'd spent the last three months entrapped by her pain. Somehow she'd managed to keep a journal while she was with Vega. A contact had found and sent it to us shortly after Vega was killed. We had yet to tell Haven in case our leads were all false hope.
Her words replayed through my head night after night, her sacrifice for her sister, her child. Something about her battered soul called to me in a way I couldn't explain.
Sometimes I want to end it all,
Release myself from the pain.
It's ironic that the pain is the only thing
Reminding me I'm still alive. If Sasha was out there I was going to find her.
