I was absolutely exhausted the next day when I walked into my first class.

"Are you okay?" Michael asked me.

I nodded.

"I'm tired." I sighed.

"Luke isn't gonna be here today, by the way." He informed me, and I internally groaned.

"Is he alright?" I worried.

"Yeah, he's going somewhere with his dad." He answered, and I nodded.

"Where's Calum?" I wondered.

"I don't know. He might not be here, either." He shrugged, looking at his hands.

I remembered the time he had cried due to Calum getting a girlfriend, and I felt bad.

He looked back at me.

"How is your relationship with Luke?" He asked.

"Good I guess. I mean, we've only been dating for one day." I answered.

He nodded.

I was really curious about who Calum was dating, but I knew that it was best if I didn't ask Michael. I'd probably end up asking Luke.

"Do you actually like Luke?" He questioned.

"Of course I do. He's absolutely perfect. I like him a lot." I stated. I wasn't going to tell him that I was definitely in love with Luke.

"That's cute." He commented, picking up his phone.

I smiled and looked at my own phone, noticing that I had a new message from Luke.

"Have a good day at school. Sorry I'm not there, I have to do stuff with my dad. Love you."

-Luke's POV-

I sighed as I sent the text to Ashton; I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep this up.

One day down, twenty nine more days to go.

I had to remind myself that I only had less than a month left, and that I could do it.

"Who are you texting?" My dad asked me.

"Ashton." I replied.

"I still want to meet him, by the way. So does your mom and I'm sure your brothers would like to." He mentioned.

"I've only been dating him for a day." I laughed.

"So? We wanna meet him." He said.

"Okay. I'll bring him over after school on Friday or something." I shrugged.

"Okay." He agreed.

-Ashton's POV-

As I sat on my bed, the things that people had said kept running through my mind, reminding me of exactly who I was.

Freak
Weirdo
Creep
Fat
Ugly
Pathetic
Worthless

I was still repeating the words to myself when I pulled out my small box, and pulled out a blade.

My phone started to ring and I quickly answered it when I saw that it was Luke.

"Hey." I sighed.

"Are you okay?" He demanded.

"I'm fine." I lied.

"Can I come over?" He asked. My mom wouldn't mind.

"Sure." I replied.

"Alright. I'll be there in ten minutes." He said.

"Alright."

"Love you." He blurted before hanging up.

I quickly pulled a black hoodie over my shirt and fixed my hair.

My brother walked into my room and sat at the end of my bed.

"Ashton?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"Do you remember last year when you had to go to that hospital?" He questioned.

"Yes." I responded.

"Why?" I asked.

"I was just thinking about it and how much I missed you. I wanted to tell you that I love you, Ash." He said.

"Aw, I love you too." I replied.

He hugged me tightly and I hugged him back.

"How's school going?" I wondered, feeling kind of bad that I hadn't been keeping up with my sibling's lives like I used to.

"It's okay." He shrugged.

"How are your grades?"

"I have all As except in math, I have a B." He informed me.

"That's great!" I exclaimed. He smiled.

"Any crushes?" I wondered.

"There's this one girl that I kind of like, her name is Katie." He shrugged.

"Nice." I smiled.

He was thirteen, almost fourteen. And my sister was fifteen. I was going to be eighteen in July. It was only September, though.

"Yeah. I have homework to do, though. So I've gotta go do it." He sighed.

"Have fun." I forced myself to smile at him.

"Ew." He groaned before walking out.

"Ash?" I heard Luke ask.

"Hey." I answered.

"Can you close the door?" I asked, and he did.

"Your room smells good." He commented.

I smiled a little as he sat down.

"What do you wanna do?" I questioned.

"I don't care." He shrugged.

"Ashton, have you been crying?" He asked.

"No." I lied.

"Ash, what's wrong?" He demanded, his light blue eyes looking right into mine.

"Nothing." I said, looking at my hands.

He lifted my face so that I was looking at him.

"What's wrong?" He questioned.

"The people at school." I sighed.

"What are they saying?"

"Everything." I responded.

"They're not true. Whatever they're telling you is a lie. I'll handle it tomorrow." He stated.

I frowned a little.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm going to get them to leave you alone." He shrugged.

This is going to be kind of like a short story with like fifteen to twenty chapters
