This song is my "Song of Surrender". Do you know how there is this song that we always go to when we want to feel a certain mood? Like if you want to be happy, you always play this song that makes you upbeat. Or when you want to sing praises to God, this certain song is your go-to song? Or is it just me? Anyway, for me this is the song I play or listen to when I want to surrender myself to God all over again, when I feel that I am too caught up with everything going on in life.

There is something simply majestic about this song.

When I first heard this song, I had this blurry vision of how God wants to serve him. It was something like an idea. A possibility of which ministry I would be or which mission field I would pursue. At that moment, I didn't realize yet what that vision meant, but I remember keeping on thinking over and over again God, I give up to you my life. I want you to use me. I want you to serve you. I want to be an inspiration to the world. Use me God. Show me what you want me to do.

This verse is one of my favorites in this song:

For others, those who don't understand what being a Christian truly means, it may seem like the saying An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth. A sacrifice for a life.

But to me, this verse is nothing like that. For me, this verse in an act of surrender, a surrender that I am more than willing to give. For everything that God has done for me, I am willing to lay down my life to serve Him. I am filled with love for God, because he has loved me first. And because I know how it is to be loved by God, I am willing to serve him so that others may also experience how it is to experience God's love.

I am not laying down my life out of a trade, or because I am forced to, or because I need to. I am laying down my life because I want to. And that is something I pray that everybody would be able to understand.

Need I say more about this? This is a reminder about everything that God has given us, and what we can experience out of this.
