The Dramatic Dinner

I think I might stop doing the recap.. I find them pointless.. Anyways, I have news for the A/N at the end

Evelyn's POV

"Evelyn. You look, stunning as always." He says with a smile, holding out the flowers to me. White roses. My favorite. I take a few steps back away from him. He can't be alive. He has been gone for years without a word. Ten years, ten years he has been gone.

"What. How? How did you find us?" I sputter out at him, standing in disbelief.

"Well I didn't find you exactly. Tally here, is in my gym class. I am a gym teacher now." He tells me, holding out the flowers once more. Tally sees my discomfort and come and takes the flowers from him to go put them into a vase. We faintly hear the tap rush on and the sound of something filling. Most likely the vase.

"What happened to  being in the military?" I ask not sure why he became a gym teacher.

"Well you see, I can't really tell due to the code of secrecy (Not sure if they have one)." He says rubbing the back of his neck and looking down at the floor in shame.

"When did you get out of the Military?" I ask, dreading the answer, hoping it wasen't long ago.

"Um, five years ago." He says, his voice getting quiet. Five years? That's when I lost my cool.

"Five years?? FIVE FUCKING YEARS AND YOU NEVER THOUGHT TO TELL YOUR FAMILY YOU WERE EVEN ALIVE?" I scream at him. He seems to have anticipated this, because all he does it blink.

"Trust me. If I could fon't you think I would have? The General said in three years my contract then I retire and my pension starts." He tells me. By looking at him you couldn't have imagined he was retiring. I guess he could tell I wasn't fully understanding it so he continued to explain.

"Since I have given so much and preformed outstandingly on every mission, they granted me with an early retirement, but letting me volunteer at the training school if I wish." He says with pride in his voice.

I take a risk with this next motion I make. I take two steps over to him and embrace him in a hug.

"Blake, you have no idea how much I have missed you. Let's make a deal. When your contract expires, let's move back to the house back home." I tell him while breathing in his smell. Old spice and the smell of fire wood.

Tally's POV

I come back into the entry hall to see my mom and dad hugging. It warms my heart but what I hear my mom say chills my heart right back.

"Blake, you have no idea how much I have missed you. Let's make a deal. When you contract expires, let's move back to the house back home."

"Mom, what about what happened? Did you forget already?" I ask her. I see my dads expression morph of one from happiness into one of confusion. I decide to fill him in.

"Back in my old school, I was fine then I guess I ticked this one guy off and he turned the whole school against me. They put a bunch of things and rigged them to spill out onto the floor when I open the lockers door. Me and mom moved the next day. And here we are. I hope I never go back to that place." I tell him with a sour expression on my face and hatred in my voice aimed at those who ruined my life. He walks over and pulls me into the hug.

"I'm sorry sweetie. I really am. If you want you can come to the base with me and join into our workouts. It sounds bad trust me. Rope climbing, rock climbing, tire swings and so much other stuff. It would be fun. Plus if you come with us, I'll put in a good word with Damien." He says with a wink. My moms ears seem to perk up at the sound of a guys name.

"Damien? Who's that?" she says looking at me with amusement. I feel my face heat up.

"Just this guy I met at school" I sputter out much to my dismay, my mother shrieks and puts her hands to her mouth.

"OHMIGOSH, MY LITTLE GIRL HAS A CRUSH!! TELL ME ABOUT HIM! IS HE CUTE? IS HE FUNNY?! DOES HE HAVE A NICE BODY? WELL?!?! TELL ME!!!!!!" She demands in one breath. I sigh and tell this is going to be a long night.

"Let's go and eat. I'll tell you over dinner." I tell them and lead them into the kitchen. I tell my mom the whole story over dinner. Once we are done, she brings out the cupcakes we made. All throughout dinner I catch my parents looking at each other with love struck expressions on their faces and love clear in their eyes. It makes my heart swell to know that my family back together. Once all the food is gone, we put the food in the fridge and the dishes in the dishwasher. We move to the living room when dad runs out to his car to grab something. He comes back shortly with a big back with random shapes in it.

"It's to make up all the years of birthdays and christmas's I missed." We try to refuse saying having him back is enough but he wont take it. He sits me down and starts pulling everything out. I open the first box. A PS4. I look to my dad with wide eyes. I rush over and tackle him into a hug. He laughs and pats my back. He hands me the next gift. An Xbox One. I look at him again. He braces himself and absorbs the blow this time.

"There are probably more of these so just wait so we can get through them before I'm 50." He says with a laugh. My face heats a little and I sit back down.

By the end of it, I have the Xbox One, PS4, all the COD games, Skyrim, all the battle field games, and many other games, along with all the accessories for both. Also gift cards for all the cool stores in the mall, some walking dead things, all the seasons, some of my favourite bands merchandise.  I don't know how he found out what bands I like. A certificate to join the workout sessions at the base, and to top it all off, a makeover certificate.

We all sit down and watch some T.V. When the night draws to a close, he bids us a farewell and says he will put in a word with Damien for me tomorrow. I hug him like if I let go he will disappear. I run up to my room to put everything away when I notice a dresser with cubes. I notice a note attached.

Dear Tally. I thought you would like a place to play your new video games so I bought this for you along with a T.V, which will be delivered tomorrow. Enjoy sweetie.

Love Dad

My eyes tear up at the note. Not because he just bought me things but because I finially can say I have a dad.

I run downstairs but stop at the bottom seat when I see my mom and dad kissing outside. I see mom close the door so I decide to do to them what they will do to me one day, maybe. I make my way to the light switches and flick the one that is for the porch. They break apart and look up laughing. I open the door and join their hug, making it a family hug. 

The night ends after that. Me and my mom just go to our rooms and get ready. When It is time to sleep I lay down in my bed and fall asleep without any worries of the next day.

How was that for a chapter? I found out that my X-Ray for the lump is next tuesday. I'm kinda scared but I know I will be fine. Like my brother said:

"We have the blood of the Irish, English and probably some fucking Vikings in us also"
