LADY LIES

Thank Goodness

Adrien/ Cat's POV

I should've made sure Marinette got inside the classroom first. She didn't have her powers but I wasn't thinking and went to help the others. I left her out there alone. I didn't realize my mistake until I saw Chloe stumble into the classroom and the door slam shut.

"Ugh my hair!" That's all Chloe cared about. I thought possibly everything was okay until I saw through the window of the door, Marinette outside. She saved Chloe and put herself on the line for her. I saw PrinceKing's arm swing out and what was even worse is that I saw Marinette get hit by the force. She couldn't overpower him and she didn't have her yo-yo. She fell.

"MARINETTE!" Alya rushed to the window and screamed her best friend's name. Nino yelled too but held Alya back as Kim locked the door. I hadn't noticed I yelled her name until everyone turned to look at me in surprise. I had to go see if she was okay but PrinceKing was still out there and my friends needed me.

"Haha!" PrinceKing chuckled to himself after looking over the railing. He then pushed his face up against the glass of the door. "Sorry my loyal subjects, but I think I have bigger fish to fry than you!" He looked over the edge again. "You're not that much of a challenge and I plan to concur the world!" With that being said, he left the school building.

Alya threw open the classroom door and sprinted to see if Marinette was okay.

"Oh my gosh!" She bawled as soon as she looked down. I was numb. It took Alya's outburst and Nino's voice to bring me out of the fog. "Everyone stay up here until I check out the situation." I ordered. I jumped down and edged close to where Marinette was laying.

"Marinette?" I whispered as I touched her hair. My voice shook. I couldn't loose her, not when I had just found her! Wait a sec, she didn't look broken. There was no blood around her either.

"I'm going to kill Tikki." She struggled to say. I cradled her in my arms.

"You took a pretty big fall." I touched her head looking for bumps. How could she fall from such a height without being injured?

"I guess I did." She giggled. "But being Ladybug, I learned the right way to fall. I wasn't perfect in the beginning remember?"

I thought back to the day I first meet Ladybug. She was so clumsy and unsure of herself. She even accidentally wrapped both of us up in her yo-yo. But she showed bravery and confidence after awhile and I knew I was hooked.

"So what happened?" I questioned.

"Well he pushed me off the second floor but as I fell I grabbed hold of the bottom of the railing. I hung there for a second and dropped. As I did that, I rolled but I timed the roll wrong and landed right on my face. Other than a few scrapes and bruises, I'm completely fine. I acted unconscious so he would leave." She shrugged like what she just did was nothing.

She's so...AMAZING!!!

"I was so worried." I hugged her. I hated when she acted reckless without letting me in on the plan. Like that time we battled Animan, she jumped straight into the t-rex's mouth without telling me how she was going to get out of it.

"Sorry Kitty." She kissed me on the cheek and I helped her to her feet.

"She's okay you can come down now." I yelled up to the others.

"Marinette!" Alya ran full speed and smothered her into a hug.

"Dude, that was sick Marinette!" Nino joined the hug. "But don't ever do that again."

"Marinette...." Chloe walked up to her. Was she finally going to stop being mean to Marinette now that she saved her life? "You ruined my HAIR!" Chloe yelled at her. "Do you know how long it takes to make this look good!?!" She pointed to her hair. She'll never change I had too high of hopes. Chloe is one of the many reasons why I didn't announce my feelings for Marinette today in class. She already bullies Marinette and I didn't want to make things worse. I didn't have time to explain my reasoning to Marinette but she confirmed my story with a confused/ worried expression. Did I not do the right thing? Almost losing her made me rethink my actions. I wanted to tell the entire world she was mine despite the consequences.

"A really long time?" Marinette chuckled at her joke. Everyone shoved past Chloe and brought Marinette into a warm embrace, myself included.

"So Mari, how long have you and Cat Noir been a thing?" Alya wiggled her eyebrows.

"Come on Alya!" Marinette sighed as she smiled with her friends. "Not every guy I come in contact with has to be romantically involved with me."

"I'll take her home. You all should go to your houses and stay there until Ladybug and I can solve this Akuma problem." I concluded as I picked up Marinette.

I dashed to her house in record time. We entered through her ceiling. I was still carrying Marinette just because I could. She scared me and I wasn't ready to let go of her until she was able to defend herself.

"Tikki?" I shouted for the Kwami.

"Cat Noir?" The small red Kwami flew out from behind a bookshelf. "Marinette!?! What's wrong, are you okay?"

"She got attacked by an Akumatized villain. He threw her off the second floor." I explained. I felt a little bit of anger towards Tikki. She left Marinette defenseless in her time of need just because of a petty argument.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry Marinette!" Tikki cried throwing herself on Marinette's cheek. "I shouldn't have went off on you like that. I was being immature." She concluded.

"It's alright Tikki." Marinette chuckled. "We'll sort our problems out later but right now we need to take down PrinceKing.

"Tikki, spots on!" She shouted as she transformed into My Lady.

"Oh look what time it is." Marinette's confident self showed. "Time to overthrow the King."

I really love that girl.
