Reyna stripped off her button up coat whose brim ended around mid-thigh; the man also had had that similar coat, but navy. Hers was a beige color, but the man also had a parka-like coat that acted like a windbreaker for the other thin one. She couldn't have made out his features, but she sure as hell noticed his jaw line. Sharp, enough to cut cheese from the local market - some of their cheese wasn't that thick. Thankfully.
Reyna unhooked each three button that was embedded on the outside of her legs on her boot. She tugged them off and placed them neatly against the wall, just below the coat hanger where she had hooked up her coat, as well. Sighing, she hooked up her keys on the hook, too. So she wouldn't forget it where she had placed the buggers; it became a habit since she had lost them so many times. Out of every way she had to remember them, this one was the most efficient.
She strode further into the center of her apartment, entering the open living room, the deemed alright size of the flat screen television was pressed up against the brick wall. It set center on the TV stand, it held numerous movies and a few books on the top, as well; right below the TV, by the gap which separated the stand from the TV, there were snowflakes, fake ones. That had the perfect outline of a circle, three snowflakes to be exact. Each one perfect for the small, circular Party Lite candles. They were small, and vanilla scented and gave everything a nice white glow to the television stand. A leather couch was pressed up against a white wall directly parallel to the TV, and a leather recliner diagonally facing towards the decent sized flat screen.
Sighing, Rey slumped over to the leather couch and pummeled down upon its comfy-ness, groaning into the slightly worn down leather. It wasn't a bad couch, it was in pretty good condition. "God, I hate summer." Reyna's voice was muffled into the couch, somewhere in the apartment, Jensen chuckled. "It's winter, you fool."
"Shut the fuck up," Rey grumbled now sitting up to look at the honey hazel-ed eyed girl. Jensen laughed, eyes aflame. "You know I'm right," Jensen Kate Jones took a seat beside her friend, stirring the hot chocolate placed in her thin fingers. The fire in Jensen's eyes shone as she turned on the flat screen.
Reyna frowned, "Why are you even here?" Rey's pale arms crossed, kind of upset since her friend even knew where her spare apartment key was placed. Jen's left eyebrow raised, "I'm your friend, you're supposed to love me unconditionally." She placed her left hand over her heart - her right hand still holding the mug.
Her friend's pale green eyes rolled, "Whatever, Jones.
"Whatever, Parker." Jensen mocked, doing the little face, as well.
Reyna snatched the remote from her friend's lap, still frowning deeply, the frown lines creasing into her forehead. "Don't you have to go home to your boyfriend, or something?" She snapped at her friend, not happy with having her friend practically break in her apartment while she wasn't home.
"Well we kinda, maybe, did fight again." Jensen Kate laughed taking a sizable sip from her hot chocolate. Reyna's eyes rolled uncontrollably, sure she was cranky but she still cared about what goes on in her friend's life. "What this time?" This fighting between Jensen and Oliver was nothing new, it was something new every week, maybe even day. Their relationship kept Reyna on her toes, now consequently having low expectations with men in general; sure, men checked her out all the time - but she always told them, 'no, I don't want a relationship'. It kept them away, thankfully.
Although, she knew one day she'd want to settle down. And that meant breaking her chain of defense. "Well," Jensen took the spoon again, and started to stir the hot chocolate again, her own eyes transfixed upon the small whirlpool in the hot beverage dead center in the mug.
"Well?" Reyna quirked her right eyebrow, unable to do her left. She tried, and tried but couldn't. "Well, you remember Hadley, right?"
Reyna switched her body angle, now sitting and facing her best friend. "The crazy ex girlfriend Hadley?" Jensen Kate nodded, taking a sip of the now lukewarm chocolate; it being no longer hot. "Well, apparently Oliver is still in contact with her." Reyna nodded, staring at her conjoined hands in her lap. "Why can't she just take a hint, and Oliver too!" She ranted, setting her mug upon a corkscrew coaster on the coffee table before the couch.
"Why is he even in contact with her?" Reyna looked up, frowning. "Something about wanting him back, I even talked to Hadley about it in person, but Oliver just doesn't believe me. Says I'm too clingy about it," Jensen pursed her lips angrily, eyebrows pulling together.
Reyna's green eyes rolled for what seemed to be the millionth time today, starting to gain a headache from the eye rolling. "Enough about me and Oliver, how's Damien? He hasn't texted or called, even, lately." Ah, Damien, the best gay friend you could ever have, and he had a straight twin brother to Jaycob Winter. Damien and Jaycob Winter were the most opposite people ever, they clashed together, but so smoothly it was honestly scary.
Jaycob had that classic look that just screamed, 'womanizer'. The over the top classic blonde hair and blue eyes, whilst Damien inherited his mother's looks, deep brown eyes and almost black hair.
They were cool, to Jensen and Reyna, anyways. "I don't know, all I know is that he had to go to his Aunt Evelyn's for awhile." Her eyes went back to Jensen Kate still stirring the lukewarm whirlpool.
Jensen nodded with a small hum, "did he kick you out?" Rey asked, confused before adding. "Oliver, I mean."
Her friend chuckled lightly, "Oh, no; you know me, I like to be much more dramatic. I left in style."
Reyna's pale eyes rolled, again. Her heading starting to pulse against her skull. "As much as I'd like to sit and chat." She placed a hand on her thigh, making a light thud to show her authority in the situation. "I have work in the morning."
Jensen Kate grinned wickedly, "At GameStop. Oh, your mother would be proud." Reyna laughed at her remark. "Oh, she is. I'm her only daughter."
"I'll sleep out here, thank you for asking." Jen got up to go visit the closet which held numerous blankets; either spares or meant for occasions like this. "I already knew you were you going to." Rey got up as well to go to her own room.
"How sweet." Jensen plastered a gooey smile on her face, which made Reyna chuckle and roll her eyes at Jensen Kate's idiocy.
As the two fell asleep in the two separate rooms, another sheet of snow blanketed New York that night. The streetlights illuminated each and every snowflake, it contrasting against the dark, night sky.
