The night previously, Reyna had met the tall man, with the 'strikingly good looks' - as Jen had said. Reyna awoke on her hardwood flooring, a fleece throw messily thrown over the top of her aching form, the screen door a few feet before her wide open. Her body wracked with shudders, she had forgotten why she had went to bed so early, around ten. It was typically eleven, eleven thirty before going to bed. The television blasting mere feet from her body, it was up high.
The flat screen's volume was very loud, even at one. Right now? Reyna bet it was on seven. "Jen what the fuck?" Morning voice thick with rasp, she realized her nose was absolutely clogged. The crusty snot stuck in her immune system. Rey wickedly coughed, bringing the inside of her elbow to her mouth.
"Hm?" Jensen Kate poked her head in, "Oh. Right." Realizing her friends coughing fit dilemma, she brought the glass of water over for her to drink. As Rey's coughing had cooled, she brought the cool glass to her lips, downing th liquid as it went down her dry throat. Reyna frowned, realizing she was sick. "What time is it? Did you tell Josh I wouldn't be able to come in today? Why am I on the floor?" The rushed words flew from her pale lips.
"It's nearing noon, yes I called; and," Jensen Kate stretched out the last word with a grin. "You claimed you were 'too hot', explaining the door open and everything. I sacrifice too much for you." Jen walked back into the kitchen to refill the chiles glass. Pale green eyes rolled, her head flopped back onto the sturdy, yet soft pillow, dirty blonde hair billowing around it dramatically.
Kneading her knuckles into her eyes, struggling to rub the drowsiness and blurriness away, she reluctantly say yo and shivered he way into her bedroom. "Where are you going?" J.K. called out, frowning at her friends disappearance. "Changing." Rey's raspy voice called back as it strained her dry throat. Reyna stripped off yesterday's unchanged outfit. Lazily slipping on baggy sweatpants, the fuzzy, mid-calf socks that almost every girl has at one point or another on and an old baggy sweatshirt, not caring about underneath.
Throwing her hair up into a poorly made messy bun, she the blew her nose, struggling to breathe through her nose. "Hey, um, Jones." The rasp handy left Rey's voice box as she strode into the living area, spotting Jensen sitting cross-legged in the leather chair as Rey took a spot on the couch, flipping onto it and pulling the blanket over her shivering frame.
"Yes?" She turned the volume back to its original, two or one. In the this case, two. "Am I permitted to go on the deck for a few hours when it's nine thirty?" Jensen whirled an eyebrow as she stirred a new-found hot chocolate Reyna hadn't spotted before.
"Uh . . . I'm no doctor, but probably not. Just bring a blanket out with you and you'll be fine." J.K. brushed off the subject easily. Reyna nodded, gleeful. Sure, she was sick, and sure, it was supposed to snow around that time, but Reyna hadn't cared.
At least, it was supposed to snow, according to the weather channel Jensen Kate had flipped on. There was only one reason she would induce her chance in getting sicker. Sebastian. If he didn't show, she couldn't care less. Sure, she'd feel a tad hurt, but nothing more. With his 'striking good looks', he came off as rude, and seriously douche-y. But last night? He was kind, and had stricken up a small conversation. She hadn't know Sebastian long, but maybe he could be a new friend. And we all know Reyna Parker could use more friends.
