Awaking with a hangover-like state is always great. Mumbling on how life and Sebastian had no mercy, she rolled off the couch and onto the frigid wooden flooring of the studio apartment. "Mornin', sunshine!" Jensen Kate yelled cheerfully beside her, she was . . . too cheery. Now, if you ever see Jensen Kate Jones being cheery this early in the morning, run.
"What's up with you?" Reyna quirked an eyebrow, using her palms to sit up properly against the couch.
"Oh, nothing!" Jensen sang heartily, nursing the hot chocolate mug in her hands. Cursing about last night, Reyna stood up to take a seat on the couch she had slept on. "What happened last night?" Now it was Jensen Kate's turn to quirk her eyebrow.
"Midnight talks, that's all."
As soon as she spoke she realized she had missed Sebastian this morning. Shrugging mentally, she rubbed at the goosebumps that wracked her arms and legs. "With who?" Acting like a teenager, she 'ooh'ed' like one to make a point as if they were still in high school.
"Sebastian . . ." Reyna trailed off, feeling her cheeks heat up even though she wasn't blushing. "Your new boy toy? The way you talk about him he must be a real charmer. Because nobody." Jensen took a pause to sip, "and I mean nobody ever makes it into Reyna Parkers favorite list. And what is he? Number two? Behind me, of course."
Her pale green orbs rolled, "Oh hush. He's just a . . ." Reyna paused, not even knowing what they were. Friends? Strangers? Acquaintances? Close friends? No, certainly not close, but, friends?
And that was when Reyna realized she wanted to be his friend. She blocked out Jensen's nonsensical babbling on how they could be friends with benefits even though she knew Rey would never want the type of relationship.
Her life wouldn't be some friends with benefits cliché where one of them caught feelings and apparently the other reconciled the same emotions and then, BOOM! They're together!
She didn't want to live a cliché, love was nice, yes. But not wanting to tell her grandchildren how they met was spilling coffee on each other, or the wrong number situation.
"To be honest, I'd bang him." Jensen shrugged, her hazel colored eyes glimmering in the morning sun. "I've seen what he looks like, and oh wow!" J.K. expressed it with a thumbs up.
"Shut up, Jones." Reyna grimaced, shifting her gaze from meeting her friend's. Never, ever, had any of Reyna Parkers dreams had come true. Well, besides having friends. But this one she wanted completed, dream: becoming this Sebastian fellow's friend.

Stepping onto the patio, the clock ticked around to eight fifty, she felt better today for some reason. Either it was the conversation that was had last night, or just the medicine decided to kick in.
Bundled up in a warm, beige slightly oversized sweater and dark brown leggings tucked into her mid-calf BearPaw's.
In the newly fallen snow, Reyna toyed with the chilled flakes, pinching it between her fingers and blowing on it. Even tracing little patterns here and there, and she hesitated on going back in when the clock ticked to ten. Grimacing, she looked back to see Jensen Kate stringing up the seasonal white lights on the ceiling.
And as she waited for another ten minutes, Reyna went back inside. But what she didn't realize was when she went back in and slammed the glass door, Sebastian was walking down the side walk. Reyna's evening patience had dimmed, and when Sebastian had passed her apartment, he looked up. Hoping she'd come out and onto her patio, but little did he know she had just went in.
Sighing, he walked down the sidewalk again. Shoving his hands in his pockets before swiping his hands through his hair, out of his face. Contemplating, he strode briskly down the snow covered sidewalk. His collar was hiked up just an inch or so past his jaw line.
Grimacing, step by step he felt his warm breath come in contact with the colder air and the smoke-like air blew past his lips every time he exhaled. Why wasn't Reyna on her deck tonight? His thoughts revolved around one thing. Or, maybe, person. Reyna. Yes, it was a juvenile and stupid thing to do but he couldn't help it. It was odd, was she better? Evening plans? Sleeping at this hour? A date?
Sebastian shook the remaining thought from his mind, not wanting to believe that she, of all girls, had a date. Sure, it was possible. She was pretty enough to find one -- or have one. He just didn't like the thought of her having one.
Sebastian furthered his journey, not wanting to turn back and wait for her, but he'd like the idea of her coming on the deck and yelling at him to turn around and come back.
But deep down, he knew that tonight was night the night she'd do it.

"Jensen! Fuck, help me with these lights!" Reyna stood on top of her couch, her tippy toes digging in as she extended her arms, lights in hand in an effort to hang it up.
"No, this is amusing," The grin on her face made Reyna want to slap her best friend. "What're you going to do about Oliver?" She turned around, finally hooking the lights on the nail that stood out in the wall.
"I don't know, you know? I want to talk to him about Hadley and everything but--" Jensen Kate's voice faltered, cutting herself off. "But what?" Reyna frowned, taking a seat beside her.
"I'm scared," Her honey hazel eyes held a certain sadness, reflecting her own emotions to the person she'd rant to about anything. "I'm scared he'll leave me for her, it's scary, if you were in my shoes you'd be scared, too."
She raked her fingers through her hair, her nails catching on a couple small knots but it was nothing compared to what she felt.
"Well we both know I won't be in that boat anytime soon." Reyna shrugged her left arm and hooked it around Jensen's shoulders.
"I didn't agree with that statement, you know."
