I way laying on something hard, but boggy. It was cold against my face. Each breathe I drew was bitter, but fulfilling as I blew it out. Moving my arms, I felt the granny texture of the ground beneath me. Bringing my hand to my head I rubbed the dirt all over my face. Sucking it in, the harsh taste of dirt and grass filled my mouth. I quickly stood up and bent over spitting out everything that was not welcomed.
"Well I guess traveling threw realms isn't as fun for some as I thought it was." Dunstan's annoying voice filled the spaces around me. I couldn't see him; my eyes were still closed.
"Dunstan shut up. Nevada is that you throwing up?" Deven was full of concern. His voice came and surrounded everywhere.
"No you idiot. I was Sarah." As cold as the ground I stood on. Her voice was more directed. It came from behind me. I turned, putting out my arms. Walking a couple of feet my hands grazed t-shirt fabric. "Deven do not touch me." Her voice was right in my face. Practically spitting on me.
"How would I touch you? I don't even know where you are." His voice was further away, then before. I gripped her shoulder this time. She stiffened, I could hear her breathing spike.
"It's me." She relaxed. Grabbing my hand, she squeezed it. "I can't see any of you. I think my eyes are closed. I can't open them."
"No your eyes are open," Dunstan's voice was getting louder. I could here the twigs and leaves crunch under his feet. "It's the forest. There is no light, which means even with your eyes open. It feels like your eyes are closed." I was about to snap at him, that he didn't need to treat me like a four-year-old little baby. When he continued to speak. "Can you conjure up some light? I would appreciate that." He turned on his charming voice, then the crunching sound stopped.
I was trying to think. Before I had left I memorized simple spells, if anything happened. I had memorized one to make a light. It took me awhile then I could see my memories clearer. I new the spell. Turning away from Nevada I reach my right hand out, as if someone were about to place something in it.
"tri fur lee pic" There was a brief moment of nothing. Blue lines of what looked like dust, twisted up around my forearm. All trailing to my palm creating a ball of glowing blue light. Once the blue dust went away, the glowing ball floated up over our heads. Then with out warning the ball exploded, scattering over everywhere.
"Well that helped." Dunstan's sarcastic voice rung threw the air.
As he spoke the little bits of light turned on each glowing their part of the woods. They reach as far as two hundred feet around all of us. It was as good as being in sunlight. With the new light each of us took our time to examine the around in new environment. The trees were all black. They were thin with no branches. There were many of them, one after another. I walked over to one, the bark seemed to be very thick. Reaching out I tried to pull a piece off, it was too strong for even the smallest piece to break off. Looking up the trees were sky scrapers. Got bigger as you went up, blocking everything in sight behind them. Looking down the grass was black. Tree roots were everywhere. Making it tricky to move around with out tripping.
"Wow." I turned to see Dunstan's face looking right at me. His mouth was a little open, but not so much. Nevada and Deven both turned after hearing him. They too stopped in there tracks eyes on me.
"What is there something on me?" I looked down at my clothes, besides being drenched in dirt and ripped there seemed to be nothing wrong. I looked at him with worried eyes. As if reading my mind Dunstan walked over to me, not making a sound. He stopped a little in front of me our eyes met cobalt black to soft auburn.
