My eyes were assaulted by the light. Quickly shutting them, eased the pain. As I slowly opened them, blinking vigorously trying to keep the light away. With each blink my sight came back to me little by little. Looking around I was in a room. Laying on a bed. A stiff bed. Moving my head over to the right I saw Dunstan sleeping in a chair. His hair was messy. It was sticking up everywhere. His eyes were shut. He was sleeping peacefully. I looked over to my left, Nevada was perched in the other chair. She too was sleeping. Hugging her legs to her chest, her hair dangled near her feet. Looking back down, the bed was all white everything. I sat up, ruffling the sheets as I went. Waking them both up.

"Ah sleeping beauty rises once more." Dunstan matted down his hair. He grinned at me as I rolled my eyes looking over at Nevada. She stretched her arms and legs. Standing up she walk to the door.

"I'll get the nurse." She smiled, closing the door behind her. Rubbing my head, I felt the soft cloth of a bandage.

"Oh yeah they wrapped a little bit of your head." Looking at him I raised and eye brow. "When you fell you hit your head on one of our bikes. It was nasty. Blood everywhere. I think they said between you and Deven you lost like five pints of blood or something." He sat up a little hovering over his seat as he scooched it closer.

Frantically looking around I whispered to my self. "Deven." Then everything flashed back. The red and blue light hitting the darkness of the trees. People asking me questions, shining a light in my face. The sirens were the last thing that I heard before they put me into an ambulance and drove off. I shifted in my bed swinging the cover back. Revealing my hospital nightgown.

"Where do you think you're going young lady?" I looked up from swinging my legs off the bed. A man was placed in between the doorway and my room. He was wearing dark blue scrubs, and a white lab coat over it. He had a stethoscope around his neck. His hair was a military buzz cut. And his piercing dark blue eyes were not making him any nicer. He walked with perfect posture over to the foot of my bed. I watched but still made no move to get back in bed.

"I'm going to see my friend Deven." My flat tune meant I wasn't dropping it for anything. He looked at me and then over to Dunstan, and back at me.

"Your friend is still in surgery." He looked down at the medical chart, flipping threw papers. "As for you. Do you have any head aches?" I crawled back into bed and placed the covers back over me.

"No." It was a firm no. No one could second guess that.

"Any blurry vision?" He smiled at Nevada, she looked him over and walked back to her seat.

"No." Another firm answer.

"Okay. In that case I can discharge you in an hour. Has your family been called?" He looked at me, but I looked over at Dunstan.

"Um... No... sir." Dunstan hug his head low. Not looking at any of us.

"I'm going to need to call them." He left the room, closing it behind him. I sat up more, looking over at Dunstan.

"You didn't call our parents!" I quietly scowled him. He frowned up at me.

"I thought that they wouldn't have to take Deven into surgery. I thought they would just take it out and bandage him up. Then we could be on our way." He got up out of his seat and walked over to the window. It was still dark but you could hear the patter of rain on the window. It was coming down harder. After a few seconds a thunder bolt feel from the sky along with a rumble of thunder.

Nevada laughed, causing both of us to look at her weird. She was sitting in the chair, legs crossed, shoulders back. She was laughing so hard she was crying. Dunstan and I both looked at each other, showing that the other had no idea what was going on. I looked at her again. She looked tied, I could tell she hadn't slept well. Her eyes were dark with huge bags under them.
