It had been a few weeks after the accident. We were all back to normal, going to school, doing homework. We had decided the day we were discharged from the hospital that we would go back in a couple of days when we had break. Now it was the day before break, last period that we all had skipped class and met in the library.

We were in the back corner last table. I was sitting next to Dunstan, who had come from gym class. I leaned away from his awful smelling body. Across from me was Nevada, she still didn't fully trust me and Dunstan after we didn't tell her that Deven was dying. Deven was next to her, he was looking at Nevada trying to read her mind it looked like. Each of us sat in silence waiting for one person to speak.

"I think we should go back tonight." Dunstan was leaning back in the chair with his arms crossed. As if he was too cool to be here with us.

"What will we tell our parents?" Deven turned to Mr. Hotshot and asked. Dunstan not knowing an answer moved uncomfortably in his chair.

"Well we could say were going on a camping trip for break." I looked at them, proposing my solution. Everyone looked at each other. Deven raised and eye brown, letting out a soulless laugh. "What it's break which means the hunter people have time to leave and come back. They wont be there, tell your mother that. Tell her that I said that too."

"Why should it matter if you said it verses one of us saying that?" Nevada quickly spat at me.

"While we were in the hospital she came to visit me. She thanked me. She knew that I had something to do with saving you and she thanks me." I looked away from the rest of them, knowing all eyes were on me.

"You never told us this because?" Deven pushed his glasses farther up his face.

"I didn't remember until just now." Nevada let out a small noise and shook her head.

"What? What is your problem with me?" I leaned over to her, staring straight at her.

She shook her head, leaning on the table to get closer to me. "Why didn't you tell me that he was dying?"

I stood up. "Not this again." Putting my hands on my hips, I shook my head slowly. "Because I didn't know! Okay! Dunstan told me and then we rushed to the room, there was no time to tell you! He was dying."

Nevada leaned back in her chair. I looked at her pleading for her to see that I was right there was no time to get her. Deven turned to her, placing on hand on her shoulder. Her head shot over to look at him.

"Sarah is right. There was not time to waste. They had to do it soon." He looked down at his free hand. "Or I would have been dead in a couple of minutes." He took his hand off of her and sat back in the chair. I looked at her. I took her a few moments to look over at me and she nodded. I sat back down in my chair.

"What happens if one of us gets hurt again? You going to save us too?" Nevada looked at the books behind my head. I froze looking at her. Thinking back to what my mother said, that I couldn't, wouldn't be able to save them all. "I mean I have nothing to lose. But they do." She pointed to the boys. But my eyes never left her face. This was the last thing I wanted her to say. The last thing I ever wanted to have to answer.

"Yes." A slow, very low noise excepted my mouth. I took my eyes off of her and looked at the table. Which had words inscribed all over it from the years.

"Sarah. You're not telling us something." Dunstan's voice brought my thoughts of the writing. I looked over at him. His soft brown eyes were looking over my face, they looked confused and welcoming. They were full of emotions, there was only one other time that they were this way.
