Chapter 16

~Lia's P.O.V.~

"Sorry, I ain't sorry. Sorry, I ain't sorry-" I sang while flipping pancakes for breakfast. Since Nathan asked me to be his girlfriend yesterday I've been in a good mood. After I made breakfast, I headed to school. When I walk into the school I see a whole bunch of people crowded around the front office.

I spotted Ashlyenn towards the back looking down at her phone. Quietly I  walked up behind her to see what she was doing. It was no surprise to me when I see that she is texting my brother. "What you doing?" I say mocking a man's voice. She squealed and jumped causing me to laugh out loud. She turned around and punched me in the shoulder.

"Don't do that again!" She whisper yells at me because people where already staring at us weirdly. "Hey, girlfriend." Nathan said as he put his arm around my waist and rests his chin on my shoulder. I know it was him because I could smell his cologne and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when he's near me.

"Hey, boyfriend." I said kissing his cheek causing a chuckle and a few glares from girls. I ignored them and looked back at Ashleynn. "What's going on here?" I asked her gesturing to the crowd. "Well apparently the school is having this thing where on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have seven periods instead of six because they are trying to make up time for the weather closing school." She said as her phone buzzed in her back pocket. "Oh so people are getting their new schedules for this." I ask smirking because I know that she is texting my brother sill, judging by the smile on her face when she looks at her phone.

She nodded putting her phone away "And the program starts today." She said irritated. I gave her a confused face. "I don't want to be here longer than I have to." She said slouching her shoulders. We had finally got our schedules and checked to see everything was the same except for advisory is what they called it. Anyway I had a free period for those days.

Later that day

Sixth period had just ended and I was headed towards the library to check out a book when when someone pulled me by the arm into a dark room. Once I was inside the door shut taking away what little light there was in the room. The lights flipped on and what do you know Heather and May was standing in front of me.

"Now you listen and listen well. Break up with Nathan or else." Heather said with her arms folded across her chest. "What makes you think I will listen to you anyway?" I asked with an amused expression.

"Well if you don't then everyone in this school will know why  you really moved her Lia." May said with a smirk.  I gulped "How did find out?" I asked trying to hide the fear in my voice. May smirked. "You have till tomorrow after school to do it understand." Heather said. With that they left the room.

I was beyond pissed how dare she threaten me. I was so consumed in my anger I didn't notice I was at a dead end. I was about to turn around when I was a door slightly open. Slowly, I walked in to see if someone was there. Nothing but a sound system was down there.

Carefully I walked down the stairs and went towards the sound system. There was an Aux cord plugged into it but nothing was at the other end. Looking around again to make sure nobody was in here but me. I pulled out my phone and plugged the Aux cord in. I scrolled down my music list till I found Lay me Down by Sam Smith. I hit play and put my phone by the system.

"Yes, I do, I believe

My body started moving to the beat of the song. I started twirling till I hit something hard and steadied myself with me hands. An arm rapped around my waist. I tried to push away "I've got you." A husky voice whispers in my ear. Nathan. Before I could do anything he took lead in the dance and I followed. He spun me lightly then dipped me.

We continued our dance till the song end at the end he dipped me again and brought me back up slowly. Once  I was out of my daze I grabbed my phone, book bag, and purse then bolted completely ignoring Nathan calling my name.

I made it all the way to my car not realizing I was being followed. Once I got in and was about to shut the door a hand stops the door. I looked up to see who the hand belonged to only to be face to face with Nathan.

"Yes?" I said annoyed. Nathan gave me an concerned look. "Lia, did you not hear me calling your name?" He asked leaning against the door. I was about to answer when he interrupted me. "What's wrong?" He asked frowning his eyebrows. "I'd rather not talk about it." I said flatly. He gave me a questioning look.

"Well could you at least give me a ride? Josh has already left and I rode with him." He ask nervously. I sighed "Fine get in." I said closing my door and he got in the passenger seat. Before I put the key in the ignition he snatches them from me.

I give him a death glare and it doesn't seem to affect him. "Tell me what's wrong right now." He says with authority in his voice. "I-I can't" I stuttered. "Lia, what's so bad that you can't tell me?" He asked his voice starting to rise. "Did-did you cheat." He asked his voice starting to crack. I shook my head 'no'. "Then what is it Lia?" He asked with pleading eyes. "Please tell me." He said holding my chin so I would have to look at him. "It's Heather." I blurted out before I could stop myself.

His eyes filled with anger and hatred. "What did she do?" He asked. "I think I should tell everyone all at once." I said nervously. He nodded but still held my chin. "Lia, promise me you won't hold any secrets from my good or bad." He said looking straight into my eyes. I nodded my head in agreement.

He kissed my cheek and sat back in his seat. I recovered from my daze a  few seconds later. "I'll text Josh to meet up at your house." Nathan said pulling out his phone. "Okay." I said pulling out of the parking lot. Here goes nothing........
