Ch. 56 Family Part 1
I woke up again, and it was finally morning. I sighed and sat down on my bed. I was sick and tired of everything that had been happening to me. I thought through everything Arceus had told me. My brain was rocking in my head when the all too familiar pokemon alarm sounded. I sighed and got up and walked in. Everyone quickly gathered around the computer.
"It doesn't seem to be much. Just a typical alarm at our home away from home."
"Away from home." Joey added. We all looked at him. "What...?"
I forgot about it. "Well if that's all, I'm gonna take the day off. You get it, right?"
"Sure Todd. I think I'll come with, if only just to monitor the progress."
"Great. I'll see you guys later." I went back and laid back on my bed. I heard everyone shuffling around, and soon enough the familiar sound of the door closing. I sat up and pulled out my phone and typed in a familiar number.
"Hey John. You remember when we pulled that epic prank on Lily? Yeah, that was a good one. If I recall, you still owe me for that, right? In that case, I need a favor. And bring Lily."
-Joey POV-
As we snuck into the area of the building where the alarm was going off, I was bothered by the lack of guards. Not that we were just kind of being let in, but the fact that I wasn't getting to beat anyone up. I know. I may have issues.
"You should be getting there soon. Any problems so far?" Doc's voice sounded over our comm.
"Nope. No problems." Adrian replied. "It's a little bit unnerving. I think there's something up."
We opened a door and slipped into the room closest to the signal. We looked around, but it was too dark to see anything. Adrian's voice sounded, "Everyone, stay quiet, and don't do any-Joey! What are you doing!"
I looked up from my phone. "What? I just wanted to check the time."
Suddenly, the lights turned on. We looked over and saw a weird computer. There wasn't anything else.
"Hello, human flesh bags."
"Uh, nice to meet you." I replied.
"Oh. Who are you? I have not met you yet..."
"Uh, who are you again?" Harper asked.
A large red simple face appeared on the monitor of the computer. "Are you serious? You do not remember me?"
"Not really." Nelly shrugged.
"I am your worst nightmare! I am the machine which shall make you all obsolete!"
Everyone just kind of stared at it.
A picture appeared on the monitor of a sort of Dalek like robot. "Does this jog your INFERNAL memory?"
"Oh...you? But...what happened to you? You just kind of...disappeared."
The face reappeared, looking rather annoyed. "My creator, soon after you became our first subjects, found a new second in command. I was deactivated. I downloaded myself into this computer, only I couldn't complete it. It took a long time for my programming to-"
"Disabling information ports. I see. I almost revealed too much. But I'm afraid there's more to this than you realize."
Beside the computer, two strange pokemon emerged. One was short and blue, with closed eyes, and looked like it was made of rock blocks, and a bright red nose. The other was like three metal balls, each with magnets, seeming to be all connected.
"These two pokemon are quite special. I think you'll like them."
Each one began to glow brightly, and before our eyes they evolved into much larger pokemon.
"What is that human expression? Oh yes...sic 'em."
-Lucario POV-
I paced impatiently outside the man's office. I could feel my aura building in intensity. The door finally opened. "At last. How might I assist you?"
"I need you to handle something for me." He escorted me in.
I walked over to a monitor. "Now that the robot is finally active, I'm confident it can destroy them."
I was alarmed. I turned to him. "You told your men this was an accident."
"That's all they need to know."
I felt my fury build. My paw gripped into a fist.
"I don't think you want to do that. Keep in mind that I hold all the cards."
I stopped. I settled myself down. "What is it that you want?"
"Everything is in order except one thing. I'm all set to destroy the children who are constantly in the way of my plans for perfection of the Pokemon race, and the one who is always the biggest problem ISN'T HERE."
I felt my fur stand up and my fingers began twitching when he mentioned destroying them.
"I have had enough of him. He stands in the way too much. And now he isn't even here when I finally have devised how to remove him."
"What...do you want?" I asked slowly.
"I want you to find him, wherever he is. And when you do, destroy him."
I widened my eyes.
"Tear him apart. I don't care what you do, MAKE IT HAPPEN."
I stood still, trying to hide my trembling.
"Well?"
I felt myself slipping away as I steadied myself and replied flatly, "Understood."
