I wake up to my mum calling from downstairs. I look up at my old alarm clock. 8 AM! The bus leaves in 10 minutes! For some weird reason, this always happens to me. I wake up way too late and then hope to get to school on time. It never works. I nearly trip over my own feet as I speed down the stairs, bag over my shoulder, shoelaces undone. I thank my mum, before bolting out the door. I get to the bus stop just in time. A special girl waiting for me, saving me a seat.
"Morning Toby!"
She's chirpy this morning. I like it when she's happy. I kiss her cheek.
"Morning babe."
The boys at the back of the bus look at me as I take a seat next to Yoshie. They look surprised. She leans on me. I hug her tightly.
"Ready for another day at school Yoshie?"
She looks up.
"Ready as I've ever been."
And with that, the bus leaves. A great day begins.
