Cramps & Cuddles▂▂▂▂
I was dying.
And the only way to rejuvenate any ounce of life back in me, I was sprawled on the sofa in the living room watching reruns of Gossip Girl so I could handle the cramps and my grogginess just a little bit better.
The doorbell ringing, however, killed the process.
I growled into the cushion, heaving myself up from the sofa and flicking my hair out of my face.
The doorbell persistently rang, like an annoying chain of bells ringing like a bad choir.
"I'm coming!" I yelled out violently at the person, who was ringing like there was no goddamn tomorrow, and stormed towards the front door. It was Tuesday evening and nobody was home. Luke was out with Sophia, dad was still at work and mom was attending some sort of tea party that had her stressing over which fancy gloves she should wear -- 'either the burgundy ones or the lilac ones!'
She chose the lilac ones.
When I opened the door, I frowned when I met a grinning face. Jace's grinning face. He was casually leaning against doorframe, wearing Barron Prep's sweatshirt and a pair of grey sweats. In his hands were a brown paper bag with printed flowers on them along with a big ass sunflower in the other.
"Aw, look at you. Looking extremely beautiful as ever." Jace cooed, patting my hair and letting himself into the foyer. My eyes followed him, standing at the still open door.
"What are you doing here?" I asked once he finished turning around in the foyer, taking everything in, even though he had been in here countless times.
He smiled brightly, showing me his perfect white teeth that were straight and flawless. I'd hate to admit that his smile was beautiful -- it had always been beautiful. Sadly, it lured young, naive girls into his devious trap that robbed them off their innocence and clarity. Like a beautiful colourful bug that's actually poisonous.
"Well, since I have nobody to hang out with, I thought I come around and say hi." He shrugged, holding the flower and the brown paper bag up, shaking it so I could hear things rustling from the inside. "I bought cookies. I know how you girls love cookies during their time of the month."
I glared at him skeptically. He didn't budge under my burning stare and held out the bag.
"Take it." He said, shaking it. I still glared at him. Jace finally frowned, "Come on, Kitty. It's not like I stuffed chopped up part of babies in here and while at it fart in it."
I grimaced momentarily, mentally asking him why on earth would he paint that picture for me?
I cautiously took the bag from him, feeling the warmth radiating against the palm of my hands. I could smell roasted Macadamia nuts along with melted chocolate. Peering into the bag, the scent hit me harder and I could feel my tongue swelter with saliva. There were a whole load of fresh baked chocolate chip with Macadamia nuts cookies in there. My absolute fucking favourite.
"My mom was being super generous so she filled up the whole thing." Jace added.
"Thanks." I mumbled sheepishly, feeling guilty all of a sudden. I gestured towards the door, "You don't have to stay around if you don't want to."
