"So, there's a party at Ryan's lodge later." Sophia said once she popped up by my side whilst I was rummaging through my locker.
I slammed it closed and raised a brow, "I just had peanut butter and jelly."
Sophia frowned, tilted her head aside as her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. She was still in her ballet clothes with her hair tied up into a messy bun.
I sighed and rephrased everything, "What's your point, Soph?"
"Oh." She grinned widely, showing me her straight teeth. "You should come with us!"
I blinked. "No."
Sophia frowned again and clutched onto my hand before I could walk away in utter disdain. "Why not? You never come to parties!"
"I hate parties, Soph!" I said exasperatedly, "It's just an excuse to flaunt your big house and drink booze whilst being underaged only for the neighbors to complain and then get all of our youthful asses at stake."
"Geez, Lacey. Don't think of it that way." Sophia rolled her eyes and quickly shot me a hopeful smile, nudging me relentlessly, "Aaron's going."
I groaned, something that sounded like a dying animal, and turned to slam my head against my locker.
"I'm only going to embarrass myself in front of him." I mumbled and slid my back down the locker, sitting myself on the linoleum floor. "There's no point of me coming. You've got Luke and I don't have-"
"Well, Jace is coming."
"Don't." I interjected, shooting her a warning glare with a point of my finger at her as she sheepishly sat herself down next to me. "Just because you're dating my brother and you feel sorry for leaving me alone, doesn't mean you can simply shove Jace in my face."
"I wasn't going to do that."
I looked at her skeptically.
"Okay, fine. So? Just go. You need to talk to people more, Lace." Sophia urged, nudging my ribs as a pathetic encouragement. I only rolled my eyes and groaned to respond to her. She gave me a look and hooked her arm around mine, "Hey, you're going whether you like or not. We can go get ready at my place and Luke will come around to pick us up with Jace."
I looked at her, rather vacantly and saw the hope sparkling in her large brown eyes. Knowing Sophia, she was never going to give in until I say yes. It had always been like this. From shopping trips to random foreign movies I never want to watch because then it'd required me to read the subtitles.
I cleared my throat. "Fine. I'll go."

I hate parties. I fucking hate them. Just half an hour in, I was already witnessing everyone's regrets. Not only that, I already lost my twin brother and my best friend. As for Jace? Well, we all lost him the second we got here.
