Ch. 1: All At Once

Annie's POV

As I walked down the aisle to take my seat, people were already up and cheering Connor's name. This time a few months ago, we never would have guessed that Connor would have landed a spot in the X-Factor's top 10. All four judges were giving Connor a standing ovation mid-song, even Simon Cowell. I hadn't really payed attention to how good of a singer Connor was until he auditioned for X-Factor. Before that, it was just what I had heard him sing to the radio in the car.

The judges took their seats and Demi Lovato began to talk. "Wow, I am just blown away. You make me glad that I got the boys category!" she chuckled and then everyone cheered. Connor muttered a thank you, looking flawless as always. He styled his hair different tonight, to the side, and wore a dark blue shirt, knowing how good it brought out his gorgeous blue eyes.

"Well, I have to say, that was the best performance that I have seen all season." Simon said and the crowd went wild. Kelly Rowland mentioned that Connor had a very bright future and finally, Harry Styles began to talk. Of course though, he was drowned out by all of the girls screaming his name. I swear, I don't see what they find so special about some pop singer who was a normal boy in a band with a just okay voice. When the crowd calmed down a bit Harry told Connor that he was impressed by his voice and of course, the female population of the audience cheered loudly once again.

With that, Mario Lopez closed up the show with the numbers to be called to vote for which person and I made my way backstage to congratulate Connor. I flashed my backstage pass to the security guard in front of the heavy door and he moved slightly to let me through. I finally found Connor's room and turned the knob to discover that he wasn't in yet. I flicked on the light and sat quietly on the bed while I let my thoughts go back to the amazing performance Connor just had, he sang Free Fallin' by John Mayer and hit every note perfectly. In all of the two years that Connor and I had been dating, I had never been so proud of him, if he didn't win this competition he would definitely come in close second.

I thought I would surprise Connor since he didn't know I was coming to see his performance tonight, so I went into the closet and planned to pop out when he came in.

I heard the door open and was ready to push the door open when something stopped me, a strange noise. I looked out of the holes of the closet door and sure enough, saw Connor, but he wasn't alone.

My head started spinning. I heard little noises of heavy breaths and by the look of it they were against the wall. He was making out with one of the contestants I recognized had been in the girls category and had sang just before him, Lynsey Wilson. I felt all of the blood drain from my face and I felt like I needed to throw up. I hadn't even noticed that I had started to cry.

I peeked out of the hole again and saw that they had moved to the bed, with Lynsey on top. I stepped back into the closet and hit a hanger with my elbow, causing it to fall, first hitting the wall and hitting the floor with a soft thud. I prayed no one heard anything but the automatic silence of the room told me I was wrong. All I could do was squeeze my eyes shut and hope for the best.
