"Hey." Josh said walking in the front door.

"What are you up to?" He asking, placing his keys on the counter and coming to sit by me on the couch.

I had spent all afternoon sitting on the couch watching movies.

"What's it look like I'm up to?" I said, keeping my eyes on the t.v.

Josh paused, sighing and sat down next to me.

"Are those home movies?" Josh asked.

"Yeah."

On the screen was 6 year old me and 5 year old Josh, riding our bikes with the help of our smiling parents.

"I'm worried about you. you haven't left the house in two weeks. What's up?" he said to me.

"Nothing." I shrugged.

I watched as 6 year old me fell off the bike and scraped her knee. it was bleeding and my dad picked her up into his arms and carried her into the garage of our old house.

My mom cleaned the cut off and placed a band aid lightly over the wound and 6 year old me stopped crying. she kissed it and everything was better.

"When was the last time you talking to Harry?" Josh asked me.

"My phone died." I asnwered in monotone, mesmerized by how happy I was on the t.v. screen,

"When did it die?"

"Tuesday." I replied.

"He's really worried about you." Josh stated.

"Why?"

"Because it's Friday, Annie. You haven't responded to anyone's calls, or voicemails for that matter."

I stayed silent, absorbing the bight orange color on the shirt I wore the day I learned how to ride a bike.

I felt Josh take a deep breath next to me.

Harry had been gone for two weeks now, he was in England settling final decisions and rehearsals for the tour starting soon.

"I miss them too, you know." Josh said. Again, I remained silent.

"So tomorrow night Lynsey's having all the top ten from the X-Factor over for a little dinner party at her house. I want you to come."

I looked over at him, his face was drooped down, sad. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

...

"Are you ready to go?" Jose asked, walking into the room.

I slipped some earrings on and looked at myself once more in the mirror.

"This is a bad idea." I said out aloud.

"It's going to be fine. You need to get out of the house. I'll be there, don't worry."

"Has Harry called back yet?" I asked.

"No, not yet."

"Okay let's go." Josh said, grabbing the car keys.

When we got to Lynsey's, it seemed like the whole world was there already.

"I thought only the top 10 were coming?"

"Yeah and whoever they wanted to bring I guess."

I was annoyed at this already, I really wasn't up for a big party.

...

"So how do you know Lynsey?"

"She's my brother's girlfriend." I said to the tall blonde trying to talk to me, I recognized him as one of the top 10 contestants from X-Factor. He had a cute face, pretty eyes, his body wasn't so bad to look at either. He seemed like a city kind of boy. The kind that drive nice cars that their parents buy them and get straight A's and scholarships and are just freakin' perfect.

"Oh wait-yeah! I recognize you now, you're dating Harry Styles aren't you?" He leaned against a wall with his red solo cup in hand, giving me that I love girls who play hard to get looks. Ugh.

"Uh, yeah." I took another sip of my water. The party wasn't actually that bad but if I didn't get any alcohol in me soon I'd punch the next guy who looked at me for longer than 10 seconds. I needed to relax.

"Is that water? Can I get you a drink?" He asked.

"Yes you can!" I exclaimed and waited for him to leave to walk away from that spot. I looked around and spotted a bottle of vodka on the kitchen counter. I poured my water onto the fern in the corner and first took a swig straight from the bottle and then filled up my cup half way.

"Hey there, thought I lost you." The same guy from before came up from behind me with two cups in his hand.

"Oh, I see you got a drink yourself. It's cool." He set one drink down and took a sip from his, leaning back against the wall. I smiled politely and started moving my head to the beat of the music.

"So where's Harry?"

"I'm sorry what's your name again?" I asked.

"Jordan." He said into my ear, getting a little too close for comfort.

"Well Jordan if you must know, he's in London getting ready to tour."  I felt myself relaxing a little bit more. I took another gulp of my drink and found myself subconsciously looking around for Harry's face.

"Here you go." Jordan handed me the other drink he had set down, noticing mine was almost empty already. How did I drink it so quickly? I took the drink and just sipped.

"Why are you here?" He asked, getting my attention again.

"What?" I asked quizzingly.

"You don't look like you want to be here very much?"

At this point I felt my head getting cloudy, feeling my body wanting to move around, to dance. Jordan looked in the direction I was looking,

"Wanna dance?" I started feeling hot and sweaty but I definitely wanted to dance. We set our drinks down and he walked me over to wear everyone was dancing.

Then I had the side thought that I didn't even know how old Lynsey was. This seemed like more of a high school party than anything...was she still in high school?

My body swayed to the music, Jordan dangerously close to me, swaying with me.

I closed my eyes, absorbing everything around me. The lights, the music, my hair sticking to my face with wetness, the smell of sweaty bodies around me. I felt lost. The good kind of lost though. Like when you need a break from life and you just want to float away in the wind.

I felt Jordan press up against me and I opened my eyes. He put one hand on my waist, just above my butt and one hand on my neck, pulling me in. Jordan leaned in, his eyes closed and his grip was tight on me.

My brain reacted first, my eyes shot open and I held my breath. I pushed his hand off my waist and turned away, he kissed my cheek, missing my lips.

"Stop!" I yelled, pushing him off of me.

He backed up and looked red, emarrassed. I gritted my teeth and stomped away.
