Becca POV
We moved around the compound giving refreshments and assisting in any way we could to the men who worked hard to restore the place.
A few hours later we decided to rest. I was still amazed that Clare and Tessa were here.
'So where is that mate of yours?' Clare asked looking around us.
'He is busy strategizing with Liam. I have barely seen them all day.' I said wistfully.
'Missing him??' Tessa ribbed me.
'Get your mind out of the gutter Tessa!' Clare reprimanded her.
'It is getting late Luna; you can take your friends inside now.' Channon came to say. The man was such a tool. I could not see how he and Blade were friends. He was so starchy and standoffish.
'Channon I have already told you--!' I stopped what I was saying as Clare went still as she looked at Channon who also had a perplexed look on his face before his body also went still.
'Mate.' He said quietly as he started to approach her forcefully. Each step he made she took two backwards.
'Oh heck no!' Clare said in panic looking at Channon.
Clare eventually turned around and ran off. She changed into her wolf shortly after and dashed into the woods.
Channon quickly followed. They disappeared into the dense bush. We heard howling but failed to see either of them.
'Mates!' Tessa and I said simultaneously as we collapsed laughing.
'Oh my goodness, Channon and Clare! Oh my days this is too funny!' I said in between fits of laughter.
'Who is he?' Tessa asked still amused by the scene we had just witnessed.
'Beta of this pack!' I responded with a smile.
'Oh my, he looks strong.' Tessa commented.
'He is a proper tool. He is stubborn and frankly doesn't like me that much.' I said still amused.
'Clare is done for it though! Wasn't she moaning about rejecting her mate?! Let me see her have the guts to reject him. He is much too scary!' We both laughed.
We finished our rounds but there was still no sign of Clare or Channon. She must be running back south to the pack and Channon must be after her.
We were helping prepare dinner with the other women in the kitchen when Blade and Liam entered the room. I was exhausted but I had to stay strong for I was Luna and needed the pack to see that I could handle stressful situations. I looked at Blade and he looked so troubled. This whole valcan thing was definitely making him worry. I had blocked it out for the day and tried to live in the moment.
'Don't look so shattered you're the Alpha how do you think the pack will feel if they see you so low in mood!' I mind linked him. He raised an eye brow at me and smiled. I blushed.
'Hey stop talking dirty to each other in my presence.' Liam said looking back and forth between Blade and I.
'Be quiet, you are the one with the dirty mind!' I admonished him.
'I do not know how you put up with her smart mouth!' Liam said to Blade as they sat down to eat.
'It comes with the bond. You learn to accept everything.' Blade said looking at me.
'Aww, that is so sweet.' Tessa cooed.
'Calm down woman!' Liam said hitting her playfully at the back of her head as she placed food on the table near him.
