A door opened and a man walked into the room.

'What is your information?' the old man standing at the window asked. His back was turned facing the night sky.

'They have met.' The visitor said softly his voice shaking with apprehension.

The man facing the window said nothing for a long time. He clasped his hands behind his back and walked to the safe behind his large desk. He took out a metal box that looked very old and worn. Inside it was a black sack cloth. The man removed a shiny silver knife with a wolf face handle and one wolf eye was a green malachite stone and the other an amber stone. He replaced the dagger into the pouch and then the metal box. He handed it to the visitor.

'Use it to kill them. You must let them mate but they must die soon after. If you kill one; the other will die soon after.'

'Yes master.' The visitor responded accepting the box and bowing.

'They have great power between them. We cannot let that power grow. It is fatal for our kind.' The old man continued. He had waited for this day for twenty years. It had finally come.

'Do not fail this time. Your father failed five years ago to kill the male and you know what happened to him.' The man returned to the window and continued to stare out into the night sky.

The visitor left quietly, only a soft click of the door identified his exit.

The man breathed deeply.

Ever since the bond had been made when the female was born, his spirit had weakened. He needed them dead. If they mated the forces would start to regenerate. Jade and hazel should never bond; it was disastrous for his kind. Five years ago they had tried and almost succeeded in killing the male. They had two chances according to the prophecy: one before the male shifted and after they mated.

The male had almost died but being near the female had kept him alive. The stupid werewolf bond had connected between them and his men were forced to retreat, they only had time to clean the male's mind of the encounter. He knew his apprentice was skilled but if he too failed then the war would be upon them.

Becca POV

I did not know what to do anymore. Blade had been the ultimate gentleman. He had been polite and thoughtful. Although we remained by each other's side for the rest of the evening I was tense. Blade's behaviour was nothing but exemplary. He was a highly revered alpha which was evident by the applause and cheers which greeted us when my father announced that Blade and I were mates after Liam's coronation.

My bags were packed and ready for our departure. The girls had come over and we were currently in my bedroom strategizing.

'He is different.' Tessa commented as I sighed.

'You think?' I said sarcastically 'I mean he was polite all evening to everyone.'

'Yeah, maybe he has changed, he is after all an alpha now.' Ann added and I sighed some more.

'That's true plus he is a warrior squad alumni.' Clare stated. 'I mean not every alpha can survive that training but he excelled at it. The stories my brothers have of his achievements are numerous. He had Liam are like the two supreme alphas around.'

'I am so screwed. I mean even if but to be his mate?' I groaned and placed the pillow over my head.

'Come on you will be leaving us and let's be happy until you go.' Mia said and I sat up and hugged the pillow to me.
