A/N the picture to the left is that of Damian. Cute, right?

I stood up and stayed right there rooted to that spot. My mind wandered to what happened today and I squeezed my eyes shut in embarrassment. Maybe I shouldn't have bitten him?

I opened my eyes slowly to check his reaction upon seeing me. To my suprise, he was smirking. I groaned. I'm glad I did bite him. What was it with guys and smirking? Its like they have some kind of obsession with it.
"-to meet my brother." Lucy was saying as i snapped out of my shocked state. I smiled nervously, wondering what he was thinking behind that stupid smirk of his.

Lucy looked from her brother to me and from me back to her brother in confusion. Noting the expression on our faces, she asked the question I've been dreading to hear.
"Have you two met before?"

Before I could form a coherent statement, her brother answered with the smirk on his face intact. "Nope. Never met her before." I raised my brow at him so high I'm sure it had reached my hairline. I looked at him in confusion, the awkwardness was getting worse because, to the people passing by, we probably look like a bunch of dumb kids engaged in a staring contest. Finally I broke the silence. "Huh?" Lucy looked at me, realisation dawning on her.

She bent closer to me to whisper in my ears. "I know he's so handsome, no need to be so open about it, unless he'll think you have a crush on him, he's ego's bigger than the Eiffel tower." I gaped at her. It was as if everything going on here was too much for me to process, me being so speechless and all. Ha! Crush? As if! The guy was too arrogant for his own good. Lucy finally broke the silence. "Dani, meet my brother, Damian. Damian, my best friend, Daniella." She finished with a smile on her face. I tried to put on a smile and i hope it didn't come out as a grimace.

"The pleasure's mine." He said as if we really were seeing each other for the first time. I gotta hand it to him, he's a great actor. Or....maybe he didn't remember my face? Nahh...the incident just took place a few hours ago, I mean, who forgets that fast? Especially if the said person bit you and ran away. "So nice to meet you." I said hoping Lucy didn't hear the sarcasm in my tone.

Our food arrived and I looked at the food before me. Cheeseburger, fries and ketchup. I inhaled the sweet aroma, and a smile finally sneaked onto my face. What's better than a good meal to cheer me up after the 'events' of today?

Just then, Lucy's phone rang again, shifting my attention from my food to her and then to Damian. He was looking at me, as if he was trying to understand something about me.
"I gotta take this call. Be right back." Lucy said as she eyed the name displayed on the screen. "Sure." I said. Now was my time to get the answers I so craved for. "So..." I left my words hanging. "So?" He answered. "Is it just me, or did you just pretend I wasn't the one you saw earlier?" I asked him with narrowed eyes. "Bit" he corrected. My eyes widened "Excuse me?" I asked, wanting him to explain what he meant by that. He obliged "You meant 'did I pretend you weren't the one that bit me earlier" I flushed. That was so embarrassing. "Hey!" I said in an attempt to cover up the embarrassment I felt. "What? Its not like I'm lying, is it?" He said, the smirk coming back to his face. I huffed "Whatever!". He laughed out loud at my expense.

Lucy came back in time to meet Damian doubled over in laughter. "Hmm...I see you guys are getting along well" I snorted "Of course! We're almost holding hands" I answered, sarcasm dripping from every word. Putting on a fake smile, I looked at Damian and asked "Right, Damian?" He raised an eyebrow at me but answered anyway. "Of course. Almost." He said giving me look as if to say 'two can play that game'. We stared at each other for what seemed like hours but were few seconds. I broke my gaze away, but not fast enough to miss his signature smirk.
