They sprang apart

And they looked at me in shock, confusion, then Damian's eyes widened in realization. By then my eyes bored into his accusatorily. "No." He said "no no no no no. Its not what you were thinking." He defended. On the other hand, Vickie still looked confused. She scrunched her face in confusion. "What was she thinking?" She asked innocently.

We glared at her simultaneously. "What?" She asked. I just shook my head and stormed out of there, all the while wondering to myself why I was even reacting this way in the first place. So what if they were about to kiss? What do I care? After all it's not like Damian and I have anything going on. I sighed and stopped walking. Placing my palm on my forehead, I inhaled and exhaled deeply.

Calm down Dani, just take a deep brea-

Then someone crashed into me. I almost fell face-first to the ground. But then the person was quick to catch me, gripping me around the waist. I turned back to say 'Watch where you're going' when I came face to face with none other than Damian Dryden. I rolled my eyes and tore myself out of his grip like I was being scorched by hot coals. "What?" I asked with bitterness in my tone for some unfathomable reason.

He sighed. Then said "Dani, calm down." I glared at him and said "Calm down? I'm calm. In fact, I'm very calm. What makes you think I'm not?" He almost smirked, the edges of his mouth twitching "Uhh...other than the fact that you look like you'd rip my guts out given the opportunity?" He asked playfully. I glared harder. He sighed again. "Dani, its not what you were thinking. Something got stuck in her eye and I was helping her get it out." I held back and eye roll. Such a lame excuse. He saw that I obviously didn't believe him so he said. "Seriously." I shrugged nonchalantly even if it was the last thing I felt like doing. "You don't have to explain yourself to me, Damian. Its not like we're dating or anything. Its none of my business." I said, wondering if I was talking to him or trying to reassure myself. His pupils dilated as he fixed me with a stare that did things to my insides. I coughed awkwardly and said "Anyway, see ya." I turned to leave but he grabbed hold of my arm and held me back. "I..." He began, then stopped. I waited patiently to him to speak. "Let me make it up to you." He finally said. My eyes widened and then I raised my brows at him. He went on. "There's a new park at Wellington Road just near McDonald's. I heard they have these cool spiderweb thingy made with ropes. I was wondering if you'd like to come with me." He finished and looked at me for a while. I just stood there dumbfounded, my hand still in his and my mouth slightly agape. What was that? Is he...asking me out on a date? Like a date date? I suddenly frowned. Who the heck did he think he was, trying to kiss another girl one minute and the asking me out the next?

"No." I said.

His face fell. "What?" His eyes widened in surprise. Well, I don't actually blame him for being surprised, after all I was flustered just a few seconds ago. He looked confused for a moment as if wondering why I'd turn him down, then a wide grin spread on his face. "Yes." He said. Now it was my turn to look confused. "What?"

"I said yes, you're coming." I rolled my eyes and said "You can't make me." He then smirked his signature smirk. "We'll see about that" he smiled and walked off, obviously pleased with himself. I stood there thinking 'what the heck was that?'
