When I Say Forever

When I say forever, I mean always.
When I say always, I mean that there will never be a day when you don't have me.
I intend to be there for you beyond the sun,
Beyond the places that you run to get away from this world,
you will forever find me there.
This is more than love, my love,
This is covenant.
This is a forever promise that
I cannot leave you until death,
and even in death I will be your forever always.
When I say forever, I know that there will be times when you run from me.
Times when the sight of me makes your feet feel like wandering.
But being on your side does not
need your permission,
and I can be yours from a distance should your resistance prove to be too much.
"For love is not love which alters when in alteration finds."
And I will not alter my constancy even when you don't return my love in kind,
nor I will not give up on your soul.
It is precious to me beyond measure.
Love is not what you do
when others love you back,
Love is love when it remains,
even unrequited.
And so just know that when I say forever,
I mean illumë for every beat of your heart
to the stars above and galaxies undiscovered,
to infinity to infinity.
If you do not believe me look to the moon and see how it shines in the darkness
for the sun to have its glory,
and know that this is what I would do for you.
You hold every beat of my heart in your hands and sometimes I terrified that you don't know what to do with it,
your hands shake so much sometimes,
I'm afraid you'll drop my heart on the floor
and forget why you were holding it
in the first place.
But despite my fears,
I would entrust my heartbeat to no one else,
For you are my forever,
and I know that no matter how many times we drop each other on the floor,
we will always be there
to pick each other up again.
So to my forever always, my love,
I love you to the stars and far,far beyond
where their light can shine.
