"Please wake up, flower. I can't lose you."

I opened my eyes slowly, and saw Leilani next to me. She looked up at me, as I opened my eyes.

"Serena! You're awake!"

She stood up, and I groaned. I felt like I'd been hit by a bus........... I realized my arm was in a cast, and tried to remember what happened.

I remembered leaving Mitch's and a few people coming up to me. After one of them hit me, it gets blurry until Leilani ran up to me.

I looked around and saw Mitch walk in with a doctor. Apparently, I'd suffered a nasty concussion and a broken arm. I'd be fine, but would need someone to look after me for a while. Leilani said that wouldn't be an issue, and the doctor left. It was late, and Mitch had to get home. Leilani insisted on staying with me, and sat on the bed next to me,

"I was so worried about you.........."

I just looked at her, thinking.

"I rememeber walking home, and these people walking up to me. One of them hit me, and it gets blurry until I heard you shout."

She nodded, and ran her hand through her black hair.

"Yeah, I was worried and decided to look for you. When I saw that, I screamed and ran over. I was trying to get you to look at me and you passed out."

I looked at her, and started feeling sleepy. She noticed, and told me to sleep. She didn't want to lay next to me and hurt me, so she lay on a small couch that was in the corner.

She stood up, kissed my cheek and walked over to lay down.

"Good night, flower. I love you."

I smiled at her, and yawned.

"Good night, Lani. I love you to."

"Leilani Crowley, sit down. I'm fine, I just need a cuddle."

It's been a few days since I was let out of hospital and Leilani was fussing constantly. Sure, I was sore, but I was feeling better. My arm was bothering me, but other than that, I wasn't feeling horrible.

Leilani sighed, and walked over to the couch, sitting next to me.

"I just want to make sure you have what you need."

"I need a cuddle."

My arm was in a cast, but she could still cuddle with me. I wrapped my good arm around her, kissing her shoulder.

"This isn't as bad as the last time. Trust me, all I need is you."

She relaxed against me a little and leaned her head on my shoulder.

"I was so scared when you didn't wake up........."

I kissed her temple, and smiled.

"You're stuck with me, I'm afraid."

She turned and hit my arm playfully. There was a knock on the door, and she got up to answer it after kissing me. I shook my head, watching her as she walked away. Fine! My eyes may have moved, erm, south as she walked away. Can you blame me? I'm not blind you know.

"Mom! Dad!"

Her parents?!

I knew I'd have to meet them eventually, but not like this. I was still trying to get over the attack and I didn't think I was strong enough to have that discussion.

"Leilani, how are you? Have you found a place of your own yet?"

"Um, come in, we need to talk."

She walked in with her parents, looking a little nervous. She sat next to me, and her parents sat across from us. Her mom looked just like her, she had the same eyes and the same hair colour. Her dad smiled at me, pushing his class up.

"You said you needed to talk, Leilani?"

She nodded and bit her lip.

"Um, yes. You asked me if I'd found a place. Mom, dad................. I have found a place. I'm living here with Serena. We're dating........."

They seemed surprised, but after talking about it, they accepted it. But, there was more they needed to know.

Leilani looked at me, and I could see that she wasn't sure how to continue. They'd asked me about my arm, but I told them I was a klutz and they laughed it off.

"Mr and Mr.Crowley, there's a little more to this."

They looked at me and I took a deep breath, they waited for me to continue and Lani squeezed my hand.

"I'm transgender. I was born a boy. Mitch's friend Daniel? That was me. I couldn't live like that and started changing into who I feel I really am. Leilani knows and she's fine with it. This cast isn't the result of me being a klutz. I was on my way home from helping Mitch set up his apartment and some people realized I was different. They started harassing me and weren't going to stop, until I heard Leilani shout. I was late coming home and she was walking to Mitch's apartment when she saw what was happening. She saved me from what they were going to do."

Her parents didn't say anything for a few minutes.

I started to get worried, and looked at Leilani. She grabbed my hand, squeezing it.

Her mom looked at me, and looked annoyed.

"Were these people caught?"

I shook my head and she got even more annoyed. Her dad spoke, interrupting whatever her mom was gonna say.

"We don't care about you being transgender. All we want is for Leilani to be happy.. It's not right, what happened to you, Serena. But, we can see that Leilani has been taking care of you. We support you both."

That was a relief and after her mom ranted a little more about those people being found, they left.

Leilani closed the door and we went up to out room to cuddle.

I lay on the bed and she cuddled into my side after getting my medication out of my bathroom for me, I took them and we lay on the bed cuddling. I was relieved that her parents accepted me.

Lailani laughed and I looked down at her.

"What is it, Lani?"

She kissed me, smiling.

"Now, all we have to worry about is me meeting your parents."
