"Is it morning already?!" I thought.
I sighed and crept out of bed stretching.
Getting dressed I headed down to the mess hall.
Breakfast was cold, but it was better than nothing.
'At least I have Marco to put me in a better mood.'
I though joining them at a table.

"How did you guys sleep?" I asked sitting down tiredly.
"Fine." Armin announced smiling cheerfully.
"Speak for yourself ." Jean grumbled picking at his food.
"The mats are better than the ground." Marco sighed slightly sleepy.
"Well at least you got a hug." Jean mumbled under his breath.

Marco turned a little bit pink.
"I didn't get a hug ether Jean." Armin pointed out he rolled his eyes.
"Why'd you let Marco hug you anyway?"
Jean questioned slightly irritated.
"I just needed a hug t-thats all." I defended embarrassed.

"If you need a hug just ask, we're all friends, right?" I questioned hopefully.
"Right." The three of them acknowledged
Jean slightly less enthusiastically.
"We need to be there for each other.
We live, fight and die for one another,
s-so..." I trailed off realizing the actual meaning behind what I had just said.
Reality hit me like a bag of bricks.

A gentle pair of arms lightly hugged me.
"A-Armin?" I looked at him confused.
"S-sorry, I shouldn't have. You just looked, so sad..."
He replied embarrassed letting go.
"It's fine." I pulled him back into a gentle hug.

"Great, now I'm the only one without a hug." Jean complained loudly.
"Hey Mikasa, can I ask a favor." I shouted over to her.
"Sure, what is it?" She asked walking over to us.
"Jean wants a hug and he has been staring at you for the last twenty minutes." I pointed out.
Jean looked shocked and embarrassed.

"Fine." She scoffed disgusted.
She walked over to him and sat next to him.
Her arms snapped around his torso like a bear trap.
There were a series of cracking and popping noises.
Mikasa got up and left soon after and
Jean looked broken, but content.

"You asked for it Jean." Marco laughed flashing his brilliant smile.
"Thank you, for asking her for that favor." Jean said flustered and still broken.
"It was worth the laugh." I smiled slightly.
Even though I wasn't the one who laughed, I sighed.
