A Promise (Marco Bott x Reader)

*Chapter 11*

Today was the day, the day we take back
Trost.
I have managed to be placed in the same squad as Marco.
Though I barely saw him, worried I looked for him.
He was the one to find me though.
"(Y/n) let's stick together we don't know what we're dealing with." He said joining me on a rooftop.

"Ok, just keep an eye out ok." I said back smiling nervously.
I heard a familiar screeching, so I flew towards it.
Armin was on a roof being attacking by a titan.
The titan just waltzed away when I landed next to Armin.

He was sobbing intensely, " It ate Eren, how could I let this happen."
I tried my best to comfort him, but he continued to cry.
A shouting resounded from over a roof.
Then I realized Marco hadn't followed me.

I frantically grappled to where the noise was coming from.
"Marco?!" I called over to the figures standing on a roof.
"(Y/n) run get away!" Marco yelled tears streaming down his face.
"No, we stick together remember." I called back down to him.

He was being pinned down by Bertolt and Reiner.
While Annie removed his gear.
"Guys, what the hell is wrong with you."
I asked trying to rip Bertolt off Marco.
"Hold him I have to deal with her."
Reiner said as Marco continued to struggle.
Reiner took one of his blades out ready to fight.
"Why didn't you listen? Run please." Marco screamed at me still struggling.

"I still don't know what is going on? Let him go. What the hell!" I said taking out my own blade and dodging a swing from Reiner.
"I'm sorry to have to do this but I have no choice." I said turning my blade up quickly slicing off Reiners arm.
He didn't seem affected and smoke came from his open wound.

"What the fuck." I exclaimed in pure shock.
Reiner took another sword out with his remaining arm.
Stumbling backwards I slipped on a loose roof tile.
Unable to get out of the way in time I felt the sharp steel come down hard on my left shoulder.
I screamed in pain gripping my wound as it painted the ground red.

"No!" I heard Marco scream as I fell to my knees.
"We have what we came for let's go." Annie stated blankly.
"You can't leave us here she will die." Marco called after them tears raining down.
The thud of a Titans foot steps sounded as Marco scrambled over to me.

The ugly beast looked down at us and grabbed Marco he kicked and screamed with all his might.
I got up wobbling as I picked up my sword.
Stumbling I ran at it Marco's arm inside its mouth.

Jumping with all my might I thrust the sword into its eye.
It slammed its jaws closed with a resounding crack.
Marco's scream and the scream of the titan were deafening.
It dropped me and Marco and we both fell to the ground far below.

I felt my body crack as I hit the solid ground.
My vision blurred I looked to see Marco a few feet away from me.
He was just as badly injured.
Crawling towards him I dragged my shattered body behind me.
"M-Marco." I winced as I felt my splintered ribs pierce my lungs.

"(Y/n) I-I *Cough* I'm so s-sorry." He apologized propping his head up on the wall.
Managing to crawl my way over to him I rest my head next to his.
"It's not your fault, and at least we get to die together." I grabbed his hand and held it tightly.
"I love you, (Y/n)" He wheezed tears falling down his cheeks.
"I love you too, Marco..." I could feel myself faded away.
Everything became blurry and numb.

I only remember a warm hand holding mine.
