There's Trouble Brewing in the Friendship Department

Dear Diary,

I passed my first day without any detentions. Wouldn't want to disappoint my mother on the first day of school. I tried to stay in the back where none of the professors called on me all day long. Although the back of the room was boring, at least I couldn't make a fool out of myself when one of the professors were to call on me and I had no idea what the answer was. I met someone in the back of potions class. Her name is Solest Zabini. She has beach colored hair and mocha skin. Her eyes are bright blue, bright as the sky on a clear and sunny day. She practically radiated warmth. She's a Ravenclaw. She was quite nice to be around. Solest wore a hot pink skirt instead of black and had little unicorn earrings dangling from her ears. I like her quirky sense of style and her sneaky tricks. Even though she sits in the back, she raises her hand a lot which drew more attention to me than I wanted. I think she raised her hand for almost every single question. She also told me that she knows Edward. Solest got goggly eyes when she said his name. Another Hogwarts students falling for one of my perfect siblings. She raved about how smart and cool and handsome he was. I've heard it a thousand times. Despite her never-ending rant about Edward, I think we are going to get along well. I can already tell. At this very moment, I'm in the Gryffindor common room with James and Wyatt. Speaking of James and Wyatt, my father owled me saying that I have to stay from them. Why must I stay away from them? They are my friends and I can make my own decisions. I know that my father had some rivalry with their parents when they was younger but I don't have a problem with them. They are good people even despite what my father says. I shake my head and pull my mind back to reality where James and Wyatt loudly go on and on about quidditch tryouts. James made the team and he's only a first year! How incredible is that? The Gryffindor made an exception since James' father made the team in his first year. Quidditch is in his blood. I know that his mother played too. So cool. Do I have a crush on James? Oh dear, my cheeks are burning up. Does he like me back? I mean, he told me I was pretty at the feast yesterday but I don't think he likes me back. What if he has a crush on my sister? Stupid perfect siblings and their charming looks. Stupid Gemma Malfoy. You're already wasting your time on a silly crush who will never like you back. You're nothing compared to your siblings. You'll never be as good as them. They will steal everything from you and you'll be nothing. Give up and disappear forever.
