Entry 25-Potions

Dear Diary,

Solest has some news. She said in potions, Professor Fairway or Kendra assigned the class to make amortentia. Of course she would! As a demonstration, she was trying to get James to drink it but Solest volunteered instead. Thank Merlin she had potions with James. She told me that Professor Fairway then turned down her offer and moved on with the lesson. Throughout the class, Professor Fairway was trying to get James to drink the love potion but Solest would keep James from doing exactly that. I don't know what I would do without Solest. She's such a good friend. Next order of business, Wyatt. He's still madly in love with me. He keeps calling me "babe" and it's just weird. I like him as friend not as his... lover. He sends me roses and chocolate and UGH I just want to scream! Anyhow, here's a note from my mum:

Dearest Gemma,

Your father isn't much better. The potion I gave him last night isn't working. I guess the spell was much stronger than I had imagined. Not to worry, he'll come back. Anyhow, I found a potion for Wyatt:

Add 1 cup of pumpkin juice

Add 4 drops of dragon blood

Stir clockwise 3 times before continuing

Stir counter clockwise 3 times before continuing

A pinch of moondust

A piece of Wyatt's hair

A piece of your hair

2 tablespoons of red pepper

Stir until potion turn a red color before continuing

Add in 1 phoenix feather

Finish of the potion by adding 3 quarter cups of squid ink  

My last direction is to wait until the potion gives a little poof before giving some to Wyatt to drink. The potion will turn out to be a indigo-ish color.

This will be a difficult task, Gemma. Lots of patience and read it carefully. The stirring is the most important part. The pumpkin juice, moondust, squid ink, dragon blood, and red pepper may be easy to find but good luck finding a phoenix feather. They are one of the most rarest ingredients in all of potion making. I keep my faith within you. Most importantly, be careful Gemma. This potion can be dangerous if you don't stir until the potion is the right color, it could kill Wyatt. Bye for now dear! Good luck.

A phoenix feather? Is she crazy? I think I have some squid ink in my dorm and I can get some pumpkin juice from breakfast. The red pepper's quite easy as well. I know the elves use it in the kitchen often. I know a lot of the kitchen elves because of my mum, so they'll let me borrow some. Where on earth am I going to get a phoenix feather? Wait, doesn't Wyatt always carry one around in his robe? He does! Don't ask me why but this is perfect! That way I can the feather and one of his hairs. His robe! Ha, Fairway can't beat me now. Toodles!
