The morning sun rose above the horizon and I was gazing into my morning cup of tea. The porch creaked under upcoming footsteps, but I continued to sit on the swing built into the front porch.

A hand rest gently on my shoulder, causing me to glance up at the face. It was Zayn, with his raven black hair, chiselled jaw, and stubbly chin. His full lips were pursed as the light shone down on his tan skin. He smiled at me, the glowing of it warming my heart.

He sat down next to me, clasping his hand with mine. The familiar brown eyes never failed to make me happy. I couldn't tell if it was the sun or Zayn making my cheeks heat up.

"Rachel..." He whispered, his lips grazing across my ear. My heart fluttered in my chest and I leaned into him, never wanting to let this moment cease. "Rachel..." He says a bit more admittedly.

"Yes?" I moan slightly, my head nuzzled into his neck. He shakes my shoulder slightly and I glance up at his face again. His face was slightly fuzzy, it seemed as if he was fading away.

"Rachel, wake up!" He says one last time, before he dissolves completely.

"Rachel! Ugh, finally you're awake!" Gaby says, throwing her hands up in the air. "Time to get ready for another day at Berkeley!"

I sit up in bed, my good mood gone. Another dream about Zayn. His brown eyes, sparkling in the sun, his contagious smile, his black hair you could just run your fingers through. All gone. It was all just some dream, my mind still strived for Zayn.

But Zayn was back in Virginia, along with my best friends, and the girl Zayn cheated me on with. After everything that happened, after everything he told me, he still cheated on me.

It shouldn't even matter anymore. It had been one year today since I had moved from Virginia to California to come to Berkeley. I should be thankful I got into such a good school on such a short notice.

Maybe it seemed like a dumb excuse to move across the country just to get away from your boyfriend. But I wanted to go to Berkeley anyways before it all happened, I just was considering staying with Zayn. Then when he went and cheated on me, which only made me want to go to Berkeley more. That was the last straw.

So, here I was, at Berkley, with my new roommate, Gaby. Gaby and I had become friends almost immediately, which made me feel a lot better... And let me forget about Zayn a little. But there were the dreams.

The inconsistent dreams about him, that usually ended up with sitting on Zayn's front porch and he'd kiss me or whisper sweet nothings into my ear. They would be wonderful until I woke up, when I realized it was just a dream.

I pull myself off of the bed, pulling on some black skinny jeans and a Berkeley sweatshirt. We were taking a large exam today and they told us to "dress comfortable". I slip on the Toms I got from Gaby on my nineteenth birthday.

I walk into the bathroom that Gaby and I shared, where I quickly brushed my hair and teeth. I glance at the small photo Zayn took of us kissing, his nose slightly pink from the cold and my cheeks flushed from his surprise kiss.

I couldn't ever force myself to get rid of the photo, it still made my heart swell. I graze my fingers over the film of photo, wishing it would come back to life again.

Snapping out of my reverie, I look for the key thing to getting good luck on my test. I dig it out of my jewelry box, picking it up by my nails from the silver chain. My charm bracelet, which my friends made as a going away present.

They put our pictures onto small, little charms. One of Alayna, Zayn, Niall, and I throwing our caps off on Graduation day. Another one of my arms wrapped around my mom and Dad. A third of Perrie, Zayn's little sister, who died in a car accident. The fourth of my cat, Purr, who I couldn't take to Berkley. And finally the Winter's day photo of Zayn and I.

The memories never seemed to cease and the bracelet made me happy. A safe haven on my wrist.

I glance at the clock, it was almost nine. I had to head to my Literature class to take a two hour exam on what we had learned over the first two semesters.

Gaby was already waiting on me by the front door of our cramped apartment complex we got just off campus. The dorms were way too overcrowded and no offense to the school, but I didn't want to shower next to other people.

She hands me my plaid messenger bag and we head out the door, walking to campus. This way, we can get a little fresh air and buy some coffee along the way- even though I really just preferred tea.

Of course, we had cars, but Gaby loved nature... And putting pancakes on bunnies' heads. She had a large poster of that over her bed of a cream colored bunny with a pancake -that looked glued- on the bunnies' head. It was also her wallpaper on her phone and computer.

We approached the Port City Java, where Gaby got a milky way coffee and I just stuck with my usual Mocha latte. Once we left the warm cafe and got hit by the cold air again, I just wanted to turn around and spend the rest of the day in there.

Once we arrived at on Campus grounds, Gaby headed towards her singing class and I went towards literature.

The rows of seats the aligned the wall was remarkable, so I liked to sit at the top of the aisles, just to look down at the wonderful school. Most kids liked to sit near the front, because the professor thought whoever sat in the back were just slackers.

I dropped my bag to the ground and took out a pencil. I started to tap it on the desk, patiently waiting for the exam to begin. I was starting to get impatient once the whole class was there and the professor was not.

Then, finally, after half an hour, the professor walked in. A student was trailing at her feet, his face unrecognizable from the angle and position of which I was sitting. The professor handed him something and the student turned around.

My pencil clattered to the ground when I recognized who it was. He searches the room before making eye contact with me and his face lights up. He walks towards the row I was sitting in, licking his full lips and his brown eyes gleaming.

"Hey Rachel," Zayn says, plopping down in the seat next to me.

Yes, Zayn Malik was back. And he was more bad than ever.
