[ I am so sorry it took me so long to update! I had writer's block for about a week, then when I finally got inspiration, my computer wasn't working! Turns out my computer was never fixed in the first place. They still haven't gotten my computer fixed, but I was able to use my friend's, who sadly doesn't have a wattpad. Here's your update! ]

~Zayn's POV~

Rachel and I left the next morning to go back to California. She wanted to clear her mind, so I found a way to rent a car and drive it back to Berkeley. Enterprise was about to drive it to California anyways for its delivery, so all went well.

Once I picked up the car, I drove over to Rachel's house. She insisted upon it, claiming that we would only be there for a couple minutes and that her mom could suck  it up and deal with the fact her boyfriend isn't who she wants him to be.

As I pulled up to Rachel's familiar house, I text her to say I'm waiting outside, but of course she was still saying her goodbyes and told me to come inside.

The door was unlocked, so I let myself in, just like I used to do in Senior Year. Rachel was in the front hall with her family and friends, giving them each a hug and a goodbye.

"You know you don't have to leave so soon, honey. We haven't seen you in over a year!" Her dad exclaims. At least Aunt Samara doesn't treat me like that, she's quite understanding about all of this. She's become accustomed to living alone now, in the month I was gone.

"Dad, I have to go. As much as I would love to stay, I must get back to California and Berkeley," Rachel tells her dad, pulling him into a hug. Her mom stood firmly behind them, a stern expression on her face.

"Not enough," her dad says when Rachel tries to pull away. They hug for another thirty seconds and I take that as my chance to grab Rachel's suitcases.

From the corner of my eye, I could see Rachel's mom glaring at me, disdain in her eyes. I know she would've never let me in here if it weren't for the fact I was driving Rachel back to California. It was a five day trip, including hotels, gas, and food.

"You should at least come to going away party," Harry says, after giving her a quick hug.

"Another one of Harry Styles' famous parties? As fun as that sounds, I'll have to decline," Rachel says. Harry laughs at her remark, his eyes crinkling.

"Don't worry, Harry isn't having one of his famous parties. He always does it the night before we leave and he doesn't have enough people to invite," Louis tells her. He looks at me and smiles, shaking my hand after hugging Rachel.

"I can get enough people. I still have enough connections here," Harry says, wrapping his arm around Louis once more. Ever since Louis came out of the closet I had no fear that he would make a move on Rachel.

Alayna finally steps up, enveloping Rachel in a hug also. Her eyes were teary, her bottom lip trembling. Once she stepped away from Rachel I could see her grab Niall's hand and squeeze it.

"So we're saying goodbye again," she says. Rachel nods and I could see her lip start to tremble too. I still couldn't believe how close her and Rachel were, even when they did spend over a year apart.

"You have to come see me in California one time. I could take you to Hollywood and Los Angeles. Who knows? We might even bump into Steve Carell," Rachel tells her, her voice breaking. I continued to stand quietly behind her, almost like her mom in a way.

"And Zayn?" Alayna asks, her eyes narrowing, but a smile tugging at her lips. "Take care of her or I will be sure to find you and kill you." I laugh at another one of Alayna's threatening jokes. I could hear Rachel's mom mutter something under her breath, but I chose to ignore it.
