~Rachel's POV~
It was like one of those zombie movies when Alayna told me that Zayn still cared for me... even after all of this. I could just feel that strange flutter in my heart, the heat rising back into my cheeks, my chapped lips turning up in a smile.
I knew now my mom would always be angry with me, because I'll never go back to being the old Rachel. I guess she'll just have to suck it up.
This new Rachel, even though torn at times, was better off than the old one. She had the person she loved most, even though her mom may hate her for it. She had friends who supported her. She went to a great school and got even better grades.
Who knows? She might be a writer or a lawyer, marry the person she loves, move to a small town to settle down and have kids, all without her mom.
I would still never force my mom into making her come to my wedding or even my graduation from college. If I came here with Zayn once, she would have to carry on her life. But just this one time, I would go past her rules and see Zayn.
I would do it right after I say good-bye to Gaby, when she leaves today. It's going to become really awkward with only Alayna staying with me. Alayna would be with Niall and Niall would be with my dad and my mom would be with my dad...
This would be a lot more complicated then I thought.
---------------------------------------------
I spent the next few hours in my room after saying "good-bye" to Gaby. Niall and Alayna understood and we spent the time together watching Death Note on YouTube. It had a pretty interesting plot.
After a while, sadly, Alayna and Niall got bored so they ended up going window-shopping at the mall. I didn't want to go with them, it was one of those days I just wanted to spend in my room. I finished watching Death Note, did a religious journal for college even though I wasn't that religious, started watching Black Butler on Netflix, anything to let the time pass.
Alayna and Niall still hadn't returned after the clock chimed six and all I got was a text from Alayna saying how she would try to get here as soon as possible, they just drove down to North Carolina.
I was starting to get a headache from not moving around and watching too much TV. I tried closing my eyes and going to sleep, before I heard tapping on my window.
Pulling myself out of bed, I walk towards the window, the tapping only getting louder.
I yank it open, dodging a rock in the process. What the hell? I look down, but no one is there. When I glance back up someone's in tree. I almost scream before the person brings a finger to their lips to silence me and I recognize Zayn.
"Zayn?" I say in a loud whisper. I look back at my doorway, checking to make sure the door was locked.
"Sshhh," He hushes me. He tests his weight on the branch before jumping on to the window seal to my room. I give him my hand and tug him in.
"I was just about to see you," I admit, once Zayn is safely inside. He brushes some dirt off his pants and pushes my window shut again. I glance back at him. "You're lucky you didn't break the window."
"I was throwing the rocks lightly," He tells me, blushing slightly. He leans down and presses his lips lightly to mine, sending a shiver down my back.
"Rocks." I remind him. He laughs quietly, remembering I'm not alone in the house. I take his hand in mine, thinking about how I've never done anything this bad with my parents in the house.
