3) Trying it

I stand at my locker grabbing my books and Nathan taps me on the shoulder.

"Oh hey Nathan." I say smiling.

"Hey." He says.

"We still up for walking Friday night?" I ask.

"Well... I'm busy Friday. Sorry." He says.

"Oh.. It's ok." I say.

"But I'll make it up to you ok." He says.

"Ok." I say.

He smiles then walks to class. I close my locker and turn down a hall. I walk up behind Kai.

"Anything yet?" I ask.

"No.. And don't scare me like that." He says.

"Ok sorry. But remember meet at the alley if anything happens and here." I hand him a paper. "If you need to get out of class just hand your teacher this."

He looks at it.

"Ok. Do you have one?" He asks.

"Yes I do." I say.

He nods and we split ways.

I sit in class and pull out my book. I turn to the page and write down the notes.

"Psst... Nora..." I hear.

I look over to see Hail.

"Where did you get that necklace?" She says.

"I got it from a relative." I lie.

"Cool." She says smiling.

I keep working and eventually go to my next class.

I walk out to lunch and sit with my friends.

"So how was your weekend?" Asks Katy.

"It was good." I say.

"How was the date?" She asks.

"It was ok... He's acting a little weird though." I say. "He did ask me out.."

"And..?" She says.

"Were dating. But he's still.. I dunno. Different." I say.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

"Well.. All the sudden he's busy on a Friday night for the first time. And he's not even leaving town and his job doesn't make him work on Fridays.. Ever!" I say.

"Well... Just keep an eye on him." She says. "Don't want to lose your boyfriend."

"I know but.." I begin to say.

I see my necklace glow.

"But...." Katy says.

"I uh... Gotta go." I say standing up quickly.

"Go? Go where?" She asks.

"Just trust me, bye!" I say running off.

I run to my car and drive to the alley. I get out and see Kai is already here.

"Hey." He says.

"Hi." I say.

We try to open the door but is locked. We look inside and see it empty.

"Where are they?!" I say.

Kai picks up a note.

"We are in a new location. Mano will come tomorrow to show you where.
-Patty"

We look and each other and shrug.

I tap my necklace and transform. He taps his bracelet and transforms.

I use my telekinesis to lift me up onto a roof and he shape shifts into a bird.

I look over the town and see a fire in s building blocks away.

"Let's go!" I say.

He flies ahead and I run and jump over roofs. He shape shifts back to himself and lands on a roof. I jump next to him.

"Ok let's get anyone in the building out." I say.

"Ok let's go." He says.

He holds his hand out for a hive five. I look at him then his hand. I high five it and we run to the building. I go on the top floor and find a girl and a mom sitting in a room surrounded by flames.

"Help!" They yell.

I run up to them and help them stand up.

"I'm here to help." I say.

"Mommy a super hero!" The girl says.

The mom stares at me in confusion. I grab their hands and we run to a door. I open it and flames come into the room. I open a window and use my powers and make them float to the ground.

Fire trucks and police drive up and help them and stare as I help others escape and make them float.

Kai bursts into the room holding a dog.

"Bring it." I say.

I jump out the window and he tosses it to me. He jumps out and lands.

I watch as the firemen put out the fire.

"Excuse me... Miss." I hear someone say.

I then I see a cop looking at me and Kai.

"Yes..." I say.

"Who are you two?" He asks.

We look at each other. I haven't thought of a name yet.

"I'm Silver Shadow." I say.

"I'm Silver Shifter." Kai says.

"We're the towns new heroes." I say

The cop stares and then gulps.

"You have p.. Powers?" He asks.

"Yes we do and we need to go." I say.

"Ok but know we will need your help." He says.

I wave and float up into a roof and Kai flies as a bird up with me.

We sit on a tall building in the middle of the city watching the sunset.

"That was fun." I say.

"Yea..." He says.

"Let's go back to the alley." I say.

"Ok, I'll take us." He says.

He turns into a huge eagle and I sit on his back. He flies us back to the alley.

We get there and turn normal.

I walk out into the side walk and see over at a cafe Nathan. He's sitting at a table with a girl. She's smiling and laughing. He's smiling at her. She leans over the table and kisses him. He kisses her back.

I gasp and get in my car. I cry quietly. I sit up and look at the clock.

7:05

I need to get home. I drive home and sit on the couch.

"Today a fire was raging in the heart of the city in a small apartment complex. Two new heroes showed up and saved many people. They say their names are Silver Shadow and Silver Shifter." Says the news lady on the tv.

I turn it off and walk to my room. I open my door to my balcony. I look down at the city below me. I live in an apartment building. I grab a sweater and sit on the edge. It's a 3 foot big edge so anyone can sit on it. I look at the cities lights twinkle and the clouds above block out the stars. I barely see the moon from behind the clouds.

"Hey dad... I miss you.. Today was fun an all but I want you back." I say to myself quietly.

The moon is covered back up by the clouds.

"Also... Happy Birthday."
