Barry and I shuffle through the crowded cinema lobby and make it outside to the less crowded sidewalk. I had agreed to see the new zombie horror movie with him. It wasn't bad, but two of the actors definitely could have done a better job at their death scenes.
'Regular movie scale that was a seven or an eight,' says Barry when we get outside, 'zombie move scale, it was like a four, tops.'
I raise an eyebrow. 'There's a zombie movie scale?'
Barry nods. 'you know that zombies exist in nature?' I smirk. Uh oh, here we go, 'There's a species of fungi that infects ants, causing the ants to attack plants - that can release spores which in turn infect new hosts-' he pauses. 'I'm going full nerd again, aren't I?'
'Yeah.' I say.
'Yep.'
I laugh. 'That's okay, you are still the cutest nerd that I know. Anyways, I'm a lot more interested in the amazing as of late.' I say.
'You mean 'cause of this streak thing?' Barry says, sounding bored.
'He's out there.' I say a little louder and more serious. 'People are talking about him.'
'How do you even know he's a he? Maybe it's a she!' Says Barry.
I put on an even more serious tone. 'It's a man, okay? You know I am really intuitive about this kind of stuff. Someone even posted a picture after being yanked from a car accident.
It's a red blur leaving the scene.' I take my phone out to find the post with the picture. 'Here, what do you see?'Barry looks at it a moment and then says, 'I see your boyfriend's calling.'
I look back at my phone and see that yes, Eddie is calling. 'Oh, I should probably get this. I'm crashing at his place tonight, and he's supposed to leave a key for me somewhere.' I turn away and answer the call. 'Hey, babe. What's up?'
'Hey!' Comes his voice through the phone. '. With you?'
'Not much, just hanging out with Barry. You off work yet?'
'Tell him I say hi. No, I won't be for another few hours.' He sighs. 'But I'll be driving by to leave a key on the doormat.'
'On the doormat? You're gonna be investigating your own robbery, detective.' I laugh a bit. 'Besides, you don't have a mat. Do you have a planter?' I ask.
He gives a long thoughtful sigh. 'How about the mailbox? I'll leave it there.'
'Key's in the mailbox. Okay, I'll see you later.'
'Alright, bye.' I hang up and turn back to Barry, who's smiling. 'Eddie says hi.'
'Nice of him. You wanna grab a bite? I'm feeling a little. . famished.' He asks.
I look at him incredulously. 'After the Mongolian barbecue we had before the movie and the extra large popcorn you had at the movie? How are you not. . . fat?'
'I've been jogging.' He says.
'Oh, okay.' I laugh and we make our way down to a small seafood restaurant where Barry orders some sushi, and I'm waiting at a small table to the side, not particularly hungry, especially for sushi.
Barry finishes his sushi in almost a minute.
'You ate that really - fast. You've never been a fast eater, are you alright?' I ask with false concern.
He laughs. 'Just really hungry.'
We continue to walk the city streets. We cross bridges and turn in ways we don't even know. Every store is lit up with all kinds of lights, it's so pretty at night. When I finally check my phone, I see it's 10:37.
'It's getting pretty late.' I say. 'I should probably be getting home.'
'Yeah,' he nods. 'Night.'
'Night,' he gives me a hug and I head off to Eddie's. It takes me another 10 minutes to find where I am, then ten minutes waiting for the bus, and then about a half hour bus ride in traffic. When I finally get to Eddie's neighbourhood, it's 11:42.
I walk down the street to number seven and open up the mailbox. I take out a shiny silver key and then go up the pathway to the door. I unlock it and open it up.
Right now, I'm too tired to explore his large house, so I begin looking for the bedroom.
It takes me almost a ten minutes to find the bedroom. It was at the very end of a long hallway filled with doors leading to different parts of the house.
I find a small alarm clock in the room. It says it's almost midnight. Eddie won't be home for another two hours, and I never liked waiting. So I just jumped under the covers of the bed and closed my eyes.
A/N : Well wasn't that boring. This is a filler, probably, I think. Nothing happens, it's really short and it's just really really boringg.... Well, thanks for reading anyway! I'll get up the next chapter as soon as I can! Love u guys! -T
P.S. Since there will be chapters like this that nothing happens in them, I think I may change all chapter titles simply to "chapter 1" "chapter 2" etc.
